Submissions for the Spring Break Challenge: Imagine, Innovate, and Invent have been submitted and uploaded! Our students were offered 4 challenges to complete: Amusement Park Mania, Sneak Peek, Fun & Games, and Organ Art. See what our awesome students created!

PACE and the FBISD GT Department will be hosting an online event on Friday, April 8, from 11:45 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. where parents, guardians, and students can learn about summer enrichment opportunities in the Greater Houston area and beyond. Raffles, scholarship opportunities, and reduced-fee incentives will be offered to attendees of the event! The District GT Showcase will be a virtual event via the Gifted and Talented Department's YouTube Channel. Video submissions from each campus will start being uploaded on April 19 and be added through April 20. Be sure to "tune in" to see all of the great products and presentations from our GT students across the District!

The Class of 2022 GT Mentorship Showcase will take place on Tuesday, April 26, from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m., and it is open to the public! The students' semester-long research projects will be in a museum-style display, and the students will be present to answer questions about their mentorship experiences. A formal program will follow.

Navigating an Uncertain Future: Applying the News Science of Purpose in School and Life

Children are innately purposeful; they are intrinsically motivated to engage in the world. As parents, our role isn’t to find our kids’ purpose, but to cultivate it in a world obsessed with performance. Join two award-winning educators as they share evidence-based best practices to guide parents of children in a rapidly changing world. In this interactive workshop, parents will be introduced to the four core elements of purpose and learn how they can support their children in cultivating purpose along every stage of their educational journey.

GT Awareness Week was created to increase awareness and encourage support of gifted education in Texas. Through online community discussions and social media posts, parents, educators, and advocates come together to celebrate giftedness. All throughout the week, TAGT will push out information and create conversations to dispel myths and provide a deeper understanding of the purpose of gifted education.

The GT PAC is looking for parents of gifted students interested in joining this committee for the 2022-23 school year. The maximum number of parent representatives per campus is three. If you are interested in joining the GT PAC, please complete the 2022-23 GT PAC Representative Interest Form no later than Friday, April 8, 2022.
