Field Trip Season!
We are definitely in field trip season as the school year winds down. Field trips and hands-on learning make concepts more memorable. Going on a field trip enhances their critical thinking skills and allows students to think about a topic or theme from a different perspective. A school trip gives students the chance to experience new venues.
Leaving the classroom for a field trip places the kids in a different social environment. During the average field trip, they encounter a new set of adults and possibly other children, which teaches them how to interact with others in different settings.
Next week on Tuedsay the Pre/K & Kindergarten students are going to Westlock Leisure Centre and Gymnastics. On Thursday, Grades 4-6 will be going on a Field Trip at Métis Crossing in Smoky Lake. On June 20th, the Grades 1-3 will be going to Jurassic Forest. During the last week of June JH will be having their year end field trip. The trips they will attend will be great learning opportunities for the students.

Solemnity (Feast) of the Sacred Heart of Jesus - June 7, 2025
In 1673, Jesus appeared to Sister Margaret Mary Alacoque and revealed ways to venerate his Sacred Heart and explained his immense love for humanity, appearing with his heart visible outside his chest, on fire, and surrounded by a crown of thorns.
To this day, the image and devotion to it remain among the most popular in the Catholic Church.
Since the 19th century, Catholic Christians have also traditionally recognized June as the month of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. During this time, we call to mind Christ’s love for us, which is visible in a special way in the image of His pierced heart. We pray that our own hearts might be conformed to His, calling us to love and respect all His people.
