News from Eli Terry
Week of September 8th, 2023

Eli Terry will be hosting the Scholastic Book Fair next week!
We still have volunteer opportunities available here: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/508094CADAA23A3FC1-54562945-book#/
For additional information about the book fair, stop by the fair website - there's great information about what books will be featured at this fair, as well as how to set-up your student's electronic payment option (the very popular eWallet)!
We will also be hosting our Family Night on Thursday, February 27 from 5:30-7:30!
Any questions, contact the Eli Terry PTO via email or on our Facebook page.
Dress Like Your Favorite Book Character Day
The Student Ambassadors have planned a special STUDENT spirit day to kick-off Read Across America week!
On Monday, March 3rd, they're inviting students to DRESS LIKE THEIR FAVORITE BOOK CHARACTER and bring the corresponding book to school.
We look SO forward to seeing our favorite literary characters brought to life filling our halls and classrooms.
Please note: Costumes cannot involve face masks or full face paint. They must also be elementary school appropriate!
Guest Readers Wanted!
If you are one of our amazing families who speak another language, there is a large collection of foreign language versions of popular children's books available at the SW Public Library. PV had much success when they had a parent read the foreign language book, alternating pages with the teacher while he/she read the English version. Please refer parents to Sarah Prattson, children's librarian at SWPL, if they are interested (sprattson@libraryconnection.info).
If you or a family member are interested in being a guest reader, please reach out to your child's classroom teacher!

South Windsor Public Schools is excited to welcome our 2025 - 2026 Kindergarten class! Your child is about to take an exciting next step in their education. We are looking forward to the beginning of a collaborative partnership between home and school in order to provide a successful transition for both your child and your family.
The South Windsor full-day kindergarten program is available to children who are residents of South Windsor and who are (or will be) age five (5) on or before September 1, 2025.
*If your child’s birthday is after September 1, 2025, and you would like them considered for kindergarten this fall, you may fill out the pre-registration form and check the appropriate box and the principal will schedule an assessment to determine if admitting your child would be developmentally appropriate.
If you have a child, or know someone who does, that is eligible for Kindergarten for the 2025-26 school year, please visit the link below! There you will find information about the registration process (and be able to begin registration), find answers to commonly asked questions, and learn a bit more about Eli Terry!
