How many years have you been in education? 19
What is your most memorable teaching moment? There have been so many memorable teaching moments over the years, but one that stands out is when I’ve been able to help students build their confidence and deepen their understanding of math. Math has always been my favorite subject, and it’s incredibly rewarding to see others not only grasp the concepts but also begin to enjoy the process. Watching a student go from feeling uncertain to experiencing a breakthrough is truly special. It means everything to me when I can help others succeed!
Who was your favorite teacher growing up? My third-grade teacher, Mrs. LaVigne, was by far my favorite teacher growing up. She had a way of making learning feel fun and effortless, and she always made time to connect with each of us on a personal level. Her passion for teaching was infectious, and it made every day in her classroom feel special. I especially loved learning multiplication and how to write in cursive from her. Mrs. LaVigne’s impact on me was so profound that she inspired me to want to become a third-grade teacher myself. I learned so much from her, and I wanted to create the same positive, engaging experience for others that she gave me.
Favorite place to shop? Amazon & Target
Fun fact about yourself? I grew up in St. Louis, Missouri.

What do you enjoy most about your job? Working with the group of ladies I work with in the kitchen, they are the best! I only spend a few minutes with each group of kids that come through, but I have fun with them as well.
Who was your favorite teacher growing up? Mrs. Miles- She was just an amazing person!
Favorite place to shop? Target is my all time favorite store.
Fun fact about yourself? I love spending all my time with my family and my dogs😀

Tech Support with Mr. Rogers
Mr. Rogers, our HES tech support guru, took time out of his day to teach one of our second grade students, Graham, how to solder a motherboard from a broken student chromebook. Graham earned this reward and is looking forward to learning more about technology and engineering!
Specials Showcase
Crack the code with Mrs. Archer and Ms. Griffiths

Honesty
Honesty is taking responsibility for our actions so that others trust us. Honesty is our character trait for February/March. We want to teach our children that honest people dare to do the right thing even if it is difficult. We must model honesty and build trust with our children. Learn more about having discussions about honesty with your child in this month's newsletter.
PBIS Calendar
Each day your child is striving to meet three positive behavior goals: Be Safe, Be Responsible, and Be Respectful! Use the questions below provided each night to talk to your child about his/her positive behaviors and experiences throughout the day.
Leader In Me
Emotional Bank Accounts
This week during Successful Habits, the class learned how deposits and withdrawals to a person’s Emotional Bank Account help build strong relationships. First grade practiced giving each other deposits in our game by telling a friend a compliment or something special about them. Third also practiced giving deposits with a Kindness Swap by writing positive words or statements about one another. Mrs. Heidlebaugh's, Mrs. Geary's, and Mrs. Windle's classes are featured below.
At home work together to list things that are deposits (positive actions) and withdrawals (hurtful actions) for your family! Also, you can read this interactive story together as a family to learn more about Emotional Bank Accounts.

Mission Statement
Every Ranger, Every Reason, Every Day!
EVERY RANGER. This phrase is meant to include everyone—every student, every staff member, every graduate and every community member. All of us working together.
EVERY REASON. The primary focus of every school system is the academic achievement of all students. Our staff and, by extension, our community take on the challenge of doing even more for our students. We educate the whole child. Whatever the need, whatever the issue, whatever the REASON we are going to work together and do the best we can for each other.
EVERY DAY. Thank you to our HLSD community for making our students a priority every day, and for always pitching in to help one another
