The Montebello Unified School District is excited to announce the PowerSchool online student enrollment system for the 2024-2025 school year is now open. This will be for NEW students enrolling in the Montebello Unified School District.
This website is the first step in the process to enroll a new TK-12 student for school. Information about the student such as emergency contacts, medical, and language will be collected. Upon completion, the student's information will be sent to the school.
Retirement Announcement
We are delighted and disheartened to announce that at the end of the school year, two of our beloved Tiger staff members are retiring. Mrs. Irene Casado and Ms. Rosaura Villasenor. We will miss the veteran presence of these three individuals next year. They have developed and cultivated outstanding relationships with our students, staff and community! They will be difficult to replace but we wish them the best as they begin to define what their retirement will look like.
Attendance Improvement Incentive Contest
This year, the Montebello Unified School District offered an incentive to students and thier families to come up with a strategic plan to improve student attendance. Plans needed to include the importance of being in school every day and how the school intended to motivate students to come to school ready to learn. Plans also needed to describe outreach efforts to fellow students, staff, parents, and the entire school community. Over 30 plans were submitted and multiple plans were looked at, discussed, and partially implemented. After multiple months of implementation, the plans that were selected were by by Sophia Urbina (4th grade) and Alexander Urbina (2nd grade). Their plans were implemented and proven to increase student attendance. Sophia and Alexander recieved a laptop computer and printer to take home that were donated by the district office. After looking at data, Joseph Gascon had the highest attendance rates amongst elementary schools in MUSD.
