Faculty/Staff Spotlight
The teacher of the year flag now waves proudly over our school to honor Mrs. Emily Graham. During her remarks at the ceremony, Mrs. Graham recognized other IHS teachers and their commitment to our year’s theme Creating Memorable Learning Experiences. Mrs. Graham is an ambassador for IHS and SCCPSS and, of course, continually creates memorable learning experiences in her classroom.
Mrs. Graham expertly supports her students no matter their experience level. From beginners who are just learning their instrument, to advanced band students who are preparing for competitions.
When students play, she moves from student to student offering corrections and patiently explaining the correct way to play, hold one's instrument, or make a small change to mouth placement to improve their sound. Her ability to expertly support each individual student and their needs highlights why she is the SCCPSS Teacher of the Year and creator of memorable learning experiences.
