CVUSD Moves to Enhance Internet Security and Protection of Personal Information
CVUSD’s Technology Services Department is launching a new password policy for students to better align with cybersecurity best practices. This policy requires students to create stronger passwords that are more difficult to guess or hack, and to change them regularly.
Internet security is a vital skill for our students to learn, as they use technology for various purposes, such as education, communication, entertainment, and research. By creating and maintaining strong passwords, our students can prevent unauthorized access to their online accounts, such as email, learning platforms, social media, and cloud storage. They can also protect their personal information, such as name, address, phone number, and school records, from being stolen or misused by hackers or cybercriminals.
We appreciate your cooperation and support for this new password policy. We encourage you to promote the positive use of technology by your children, and to help them understand the importance of internet security and digital citizenship. You can find more information on teaching children to protect their data and privacy online on Common Sense Media
