Madison Memo
January 2025
A Message from the Principal
Dear Madison Families,
Happy New Year! A new year means a fresh start and an exciting opportunity to reflect on our blessings and set meaningful goals for 2025. As we embark on this journey together, I encourage you and your family to consider the following questions:
What new skill would you like to learn?
What talent would you like to explore?
What skill could you teach someone else?
Challenge yourselves to set a goal that involves trying something new. With every skill we learn, we build confidence and open the door to future opportunities.
One powerful goal for school success could be to prioritize reading practice at home. Reading for 20 minutes each night can make a significant difference in a child’s academic growth. Research shows that students who read regularly are more likely to excel academically while also developing empathy, a stronger vocabulary, and improved mental well-being.
Encouraging this habit is easy and fun! Visit your local library to explore free resources and exciting books. If you’re unsure where to start, your child’s teacher can recommend books tailored to your child’s reading level. Your child could also join our Madison Book Club which runs Monday, Tuesday, Thursday from 7:25-7:50 AM and Tuesday, Thursday from 3:15-3:40 PM.
For math, traditional flashcards and modern apps like XtraMath or Prodigy Math can be excellent tools to build fluency with math facts. These quick daily practices lay a strong foundation for future math success.
In the spirit of setting new goals and trying new things, let’s work together to make 2025 a year of growth and learning for our students. If you need support or guidance, we are here to help. Let’s make this year a fantastic one for our Madison community!
Warm regards,
Jennifer EichmeierDates to Remember

The Reading Corner
Greetings Madison Families,
We want to celebrate receiving “Exceeds Expectations” on our Governor’s Report Card. This shows that Madison Elementary School is truly a school of excellence. We want to continue this positive momentum by encouraging your families to continue reading outside of school. Our goal is for every Madison student to read for 20 minutes 4 nights a week. Please be on the hunt for our Read and Response form in your child’s backpack. Your partnership with this is much appreciated! Any questions regarding read and response or anything SFA can be directed to:
