PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE - Mr. Goodrich
Nederland Middle-Senior HS Community,
One week until graduation for the class of 2025. Teachers and students are counting down the days for the school year to end. But it is important to remember that it isn’t over until it is over. There are end of year activities (see below) and finals for 6-11 the week after graduation (see the recommended final schedule below as well).
Thanks to the Panther Parents and the community for all of the wonderful teacher appreciation they provided the school this past week.

Congratulations to River LeMaster who has qualified for States in hurdles and high jump. We may have a couple other qualifiers as well.
High School Track & Field was very successful last weekend at the Foothills League Championships. Both the boys’ & girls’ finished 3rd on the weekend. Cedar Shupe (high jump), River LeMaster (high jump, 300 m hurdles) and Abby Hess (800 m, shot put) won league titles and 1st Team All League. Ben Weber (3200 m), Libby Chandler (3200 m), and River LeMaster (100 m, 200 m) secured second place, earning Honorable Mention All League. Additionally, every athlete secured a personal best during the meet. Well done, runners!
Last weekend, High School Girls’ Soccer finished their season very successfully. They secured 3rd at the Foothills Tournament, and seniors Payton Kutscher, Lauren Shrader, Laila Waldron and Kendall Zotti were all awarded 1st Team All League. The girls’ had one of their most successful seasons ever, finishing 6-4-3 and missing playoffs by just a couple spots. Congratulations to this entire team on their hard work.

Student Fees
Dear Parents & Guardians,
As we wrap up the school year, this is a friendly reminder to check your STUDENT’S FEE BALANCE in Infinite Campus. Staying on top of these each year can help avoid any big surprises down the road—especially by graduation time! The easiest way to pay is online through Infinite Campus, but you're also welcome to stop by the front office with a check or cash. See Lulu Arauz, lulu.arauzcastex@bvsd.org. If you're looking into other options, like Free & Reduced Lunch (which also covers academic fees and Chromebooks), reach out to Lola Campos at dolores.campos-herzf@bvsd.org or 720-561-5942. We also have school-specific scholarships and financial aid available. Principal Goodrich is happy to help—just send him a quick note at gavan.goodrich@bvsd.org. Thanks so much, and please don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions!

BVSD
Dear BVSD Families and Staff,
Recently, the Boulder Valley School District has experienced six fires that appear to be related to a new viral social media trend.
It appears that students were encouraged by videos on social media to short-circuit their laptop or puncture the device’s lithium batteries. This causes the battery’s temperature to rise rapidly and uncontrollably, which can lead to a fire or explosion and release toxic fumes.
We encourage families to connect with their children and share the potential consequences.
It is all of our responsibility to take care of each other and school property on a daily basis.
That is why we encourage families to have a conversation with students about using social media responsibly and the potential consequences of engaging in this type of behavior.
Lithium battery fires can cause serious injury and damage property.
It is important for students to know that these acts also are a violation of our Student Code of Conduct and the law, potentially leading to school discipline and criminal prosecution.
Our hope is that by speaking to students in advance, we can ensure everyone can enjoy the last weeks before summer break and help students avoid situations that can have large repercussions.
Thank you for your partnership in keeping our students safe.
