Johns Hill Kindergarten Teacher Receives a Grant
A great amount of gratitude to the Heart of Illinois Community Foundation for supporting our staff! Ms. Cameron is a kindergarten teacher at Johns Hill and received a $750 Untold Stories grant to purchase "Colors of the World" classroom art supplies so her students and two other classrooms could have access to creative materials that represent all skin tones! Johns Hill Magnet School is the home to the district's ESL program (English as a Second Language).

Community Spotlight
Support a DPS school by designating your Food Drive cash donation or food items!
Anyone can donate in the name of a DPS school. Community members, boosters, parents, grandparents, and local businesses. If they donate, they just need to designate what school they would like to credit. Food donations can be made on the day of the food drive, but cash donations can be made at anytime here: https://uwdecatur.harnessgiving.org/campaigns/15131
Cash prizes are awarded to the schools that collect the most food/monetary donations. Please consider donating on behalf of DPS!
