Notes from the Principal...
Happy New Year!
Hello Monfort families,
Exciting News for Monfort Elementary!
We are pleased to announce that starting January 21, Mr. John DuBois will be joining us as the new Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) at Monfort Elementary!
Mr. DuBois comes to us with valuable experience from his time in Ferndale and is excited to work with our students and families. He is eager to make a positive impact and is looking forward to serving the Monfort community.
We appreciate your patience as we transition over the next two weeks, and we are confident that Mr. DuBois will be a fantastic addition to our team!
As we are experiencing colder temperatures, I would like to remind everyone to encourage our students to wear proper clothing for cold weather. This includes winter coats, hats, gloves, and boots. Please be sure to put your child's name or initials in the items so if they are lost, it's easier to return.
Thank you for your continued support.
Warm regards,
Jeanne Poleski
Acting Principal
Swim & Dive Expo @ Henry Ford II High School January 18th - 11:30 - 1:00
We are hosting another Swim and Dive Expo at Henry Ford II High School. This event is free and open to all UCS students grades 1-6. You don't need any previous swim or dive experience. We have an amazing coaching staff and members of our high school teams to help your child. Your child will learn some swim and dive skills and get to use some of our amazing equipment - diving boards, under water cameras, kick boards, diving trampolines, etc. We have spent years building an amazing swim and dive program with state or the art equipment, yet most of the community doesn't even know we have swim and dive teams. Please join us for this fun event and share with your UCS friends and family.
If you'd like to attend, please email hfiiswimanddive@gmail.com with:

Monfort Safety and Security
When entering Monfort...
We are asking for your assistance to ensure that our security procedures during the school day are effective. As many of you know, our school has a security camera, intercom, and buzzer at the front main entrance for use during the school day. To help us assist you when you would like to enter the school:
1. Please press the buzzer to speak with someone in the office
2. You will be asked to state your name and reason for visiting
3. You will be asked to show your photo ID into the security camera above the outside door
4. Office staff will then be able to buzz you inside
5. All visitors must immediately register in the office
In addition, we are asking you to not let any visitors in the door as you enter (and they come up behind you) or as you exit the building.
The teachers and staff are committed to student safety and security and we would like to thank you for your assistance in helping keep the students of Monfort safe!

Medication at School
Any child who needs to have medication administered at school will need to have completed medial forms on file for each medication. This includes over-the-counter medications, such as Tylenol/Advil, cough drops, allergy medication, and others.
Children may not bring any medication to school, including allergy medication, without signed medical forms on file. Please do not send medication to school in your child's backpack, such as inhalers, EpiPen, or over-the-counter medications as they will be asked to keep the medication in the office for parents to pick up. If your child needs to have medication in their backpack per Doctor recommendation, UCS requires the completed medical form to be on file with the office.
