Taylors Falls Elementary School is inviting all local veterans to morning coffee and cookies at 9:45 a.m. in the Media Center. Veterans will be greeted by students and staff who would like to thank them for their service.

At 11:00 a.m. veterans are invited to a lunch at the Taylors Falls Fire Hall, served by the Taylors Falls Fire Department. Spouses are also welcome.

• So far we have raised $5233 for our school fundraiser. Thank you for your generosity!
• So far students have earned a PJ day, and lots of staff are getting "pied."
• We're still short of our $12k goal, so we're extending the TFPFE fundraiser one more week and will wrap up Friday, November 8th. If you haven't had a chance to donate, now's the time!

Did you know you can come have lunch with your Kiddo?

Here are a few things to know:

• When bringing in outside food, please only bring enough for you and your student. For allergy reasons we do not allow you to share with any friends.
• You are welcome to enjoy our delicious school lunch. School lunch is $5.00 per person. It is important that you call the office at 651-213-2100 before 10:00am to let us know to order you lunch for that day.
• Any guests that are not parents or guardians, but would like to have lunch with a student, need to be called in ahead of time by the student's parent or legal guardian.

Welcoming children birth to 3 years old. Come and engage in purposeful and interactive play with your children in this class of movers and shakers. Parents and children stay together while enjoying regular classroom activities along with movement areas, art, and story time. Parents and children will participate in an interactive circle time with singing and movement activities before heading home.

Registration will stay open as new families are always welcome to join!

Soccer, Football, Dodgeball, Basketball, Wiffle Ball..... Name a game kids love to play and we are doing it in this class. Each class is just about having fun! All equipment provided.

Beginner Clinic (K - Gr 2): This class is intended for those beginning in the sport and interested to learn more about it.

2nd graders with a year or more experience should register for the Advanced course or email BNelson@isd2144.org for guidance.

Advanced Clinic (Gr 2 - Gr 6): This is for wrestlers looking to compete in tournaments and ready to perfect learned techniques. 2nd graders who have at least one year of experience can register for this class, otherwise they should register for the K-2 class. Wrestling at the youth level incorporates many different training methods including tumbling and relays to work on agility. This clinic uses a systematic progression of wrestling moves that are appropriate for each age level.

Who: This Try Hockey for Free event is designed to provide kids ages 4 to 9 the opportunity to try hockey in a FUN, safe environment with trained coaching staff. No experience necessary! There will be plenty of assistance on hand to be sure your child has the best first hockey experience and answer any questions you might have.

Equipment needed (at minimum): Snow Pants, gloves, jackets, helmet, skates. We will have some equipment available on a first come first serve basis but they are limited. Bike helmets are also acceptable.

Miracle at Big Rock is an enchanting holiday event hosted at Big Rock Creek in St. Croix Falls, Wisconsin. It offers a winter wonderland experience, featuring over a mile of light displays, themed activities, and festive attractions. The League of Minnesota Cities is once again encouraging our state’s 4th, 5th, and 6th graders to share ideas about how they would make cities better through submitting essays in the League’s “Mayor for a Day” essay contest.

At least three winning students will be chosen from among submitted entries. Each winning student will receive $100 and will have their essay published in a future issue of Minnesota Cities magazine.

Mr. Riebe is in his twelfth year as principal at TFE. Prior to having his dream job as TFE Principal, he served as a middle school associate principal, special education administrator, special education teacher, school psychologist, and special education paraprofessional. He has been working in public education for about 20 years. He received his master's and education specialist degrees from the University of Wisconsin.

Mr. Riebe lives with his wife of twenty years and four children (all of whom attend/ed TF Elementary) in Taylors Falls. On a weekend, you'll find him doing pretty much anything outside: Fishing with the kids, hiking, hunting, camping, or tinkering with a new woodworking project in the garage. He's an avid Boundary Waters explorer, North Shore adventurer, ardent angler, and is fond of weekend experiments on his smoker.

Fun facts about Mr. Riebe

• His right eye is two different colors. This is called heterochromia!
• The only food he can't (and won't) eat is green peppers.
• In college, he worked in orphanages in Mexico and the Republic of Trinidad.
• He and his wife once hiked in the Andes Mountains in Peru for 6 days.
