What is happening in the music department?
March Melodies Concert - THIS TUESDAY!!!
The Beginning Band/Cadet Band Concert will begin at 6:00 p.m. Students should arrive at 5:30 p.m.
The Symphonic/Concert Band and Singing Meteor Concert will begin at 7:00 p.m. Students should arrive at 6:40 p.m.
All performers should wear their concert uniform which consists of black shoes, black socks (that cover the ankles), black dress pants (no denim or stretch) and the green Meteor Music polo shirt. Please check to make sure you child complies with the uniform requirements. Many students are getting very relaxed about this but we need to look professional and uniform. Students who do not meet the requirement may not be able to perform.
The Book Fair will be open on the evening of the concert. Please plan to take some time to stop by and pick up a good book to read!
Concessions will be available before and after both concerts. Skip cooking dinner and dine out at the concert! What a great way to support the Music programs and not have to do the dishes at the same time!
NO MORNING REHEARSAL FOR BAND STUDENTS
Also, due to PARCC testing, Mr. McAtee has asked that we cancel morning rehearsals for Beginning Band and Cadet Band on Thursday and Friday, March 15 and 16, as well.
CONCERT/SYMPHONIC BAND STUDENTS WILL REHEARSE ON THURSDAY AND FRIDAY, MARCH 15 AND 16!!!

Music Booster Board - Open Positions
Open positions for next year include:
Vice-President - fills in for president, if necessary and orders all end of year awards
Treasurer - keep accurate financial records for the organization and responsible for depositing and disbursing funds.
Spirit Wear (can be multiple people) - responsible for ordering and disbursing spirit wear
Dippin' Dots (can be multiple people) - responsible for collecting orders and distributing at the schools (each school has their own representative)
We cannot run our programs without your help. Please consider donating some time to join the Booster Board and support our music students.

Charms is software that will keep track of all our Music Department events on a live, interactive on-line calendar - available to all students, members and adults by group. Teachers are able to send mass e-mails, record and blast phone messages and send free text messages. We are able to upload handouts, sound files, short videos, assignments, audition materials, maps, pictures and more for students, members and parents to access 24/7, either on their computers or on their mobile devices.
