Band & Orchestra Spring Concert
Congratulations to our 4th- and 5th-grade musicians who performed in the band and orchestra Spring Concert! The show mixed serious pieces with fun songs on pirates, from "Star Wars" and "Harry Potter." (Click below to see!). Bravo to all for a wonderful night of music!
1st- and 2nd-Grade Spring Show
We were so impressed by the talent of our 1st- and 2nd-grade students in their Spring 2024 performance based on the "The War of Between the Vowels and the Consonants" by Phyllis Turner, with music by Mr. Kurt Barker. Click below to find out if the letters ever make peace. Excellent work by all!
Attention 3rd-grade students!
Hello District 30 Families!
Do you have a current 3rd-grade student interested in joining the orchestra next year?
In our district, students in 4th grade have the exciting opportunity to learn a new instrument and join the orchestra! Next week (May 13-17), the Maple Middle School Orchestra will visit 3rd-graders to demonstrate the instruments and share all of the great things about joining the orchestra. Then, the students will have the opportunity to try out the violin, viola, cello, or bass later in the week.
A flyer about our program will be sent home with your child next week following the presentation. Open house for registration will be May 22 between 4-7p.m. at Maple School. In the meantime, please feel free to reach out to Alexis Barrett, Willowbrook and Wescott Orchestra director, with any questions: abarrett@distirct30.org
Attention 5th-grade families
Maple PTO 2024-25 Committee Chair signup!
The Maple PTO invites rising 6th-, 7th- and 8th-grade parents to consider volunteering to be a Committee Chair or Member. Covering a variety of activities and commitment levels, the co-chair and member positions are a great way to meet new people and get involved at Maple!
Positions are filled on a first-come, first-serve basis. To allow as many parents the opportunity to chair a committee as possible, we will be limiting volunteers to two committees until May 24. After May 24, you will be able to sign up for more than two committees. Click below to sign up to become a committee chair and or learn more about committee chair positions for the 2024-25 school year.
Please reach out with any questions to maplepto@district30.org.
Thank you for volunteering!
Glenview 125th Anniversary
This June, Glenview celebrates the 125th anniversary of its incorporation as a village. The video was written by the Glenview History Center and produced by GVTV (part of the Village of Glenview’s Communications division). The idea was conceived by the 125 Committee, composed of representatives from the Village, Glenview Park District, Glenview Public Library, Glenview Chamber of Commerce, Glenview History Center and Glenview school districts (including District 30!), which has been meeting for the past year to plan celebratory events.
Walking School Bus
Please join us for The Walking School Bus on Friday, May 17 at 8:00 a.m. (weather permitting). Willowbrook staff will walk through the neighborhood and pick up students who are waiting at their driveways.
If you or your children are interested in joining us, please make sure to be ready and on your driveway at 8:00 a.m.! Maps of the routes can be found by clicking here.
If you have questions, contact Mr. Goss at dgoss@district30.org.
For those families that live west of Pfingsten, please join the walking school bus on the “Southwest Loop” at the corner of Maple Leaf and Pfingsten Road.
We look forward to seeing everyone there!
