Freedom Friends,

Our Eagles begin the 2024/2025 school year in just two weeks, and our team cannot wait to have them in the building. Our team works all summer unlike factory model schools building curriculum, engaging in professional development, and onboarding each Eagle creating customized schedules, quite different than what you are used to. Our students’ success is our success, hence the differences in the time we invest to prepare for them.

On the professional development front, Dr. Poteet and I spent last week in Boston attending the inaugural MIT Artificial Intelligence & Education Summit. We were educated, inspired, and motivated to ensure our Eagles have the skill set to skillfully and ethically utilize the opportunities provided by this revolutionary tool. As we heard many times there, AI is not replacing humans, but humans with AI skills will be replacing humans without it! Our Eagles will be the first group, dominating the job market and making the world a better place, equipped with the technical and critical thinking skills required for financial Freedom. See you all very soon!

We are thrilled to begin another exciting year at The Freedom Institute of Collier County! This year, we've been overwhelmed by the number of parents eager to get more involved with events. To support this enthusiasm, we are hosting a Parent Engagement Interest Meeting on Thursday, August 22, at 1:30 PM. I am SO excited to begin year TWO at Freedom. What an amazing adventure it was last year, and this year will be even better. We have new students, new staff, and new energy in our building. I look forward to working with a wonderful group of students and families. I will be engaging in learning activities with our clients during Career, ELA, and Test Prep courses - in addition to leading yearbook club! I love spending time with my husband and four children, traveling, and doing anything outside in the sunshine! As always, I feel so thankful for this opportunity and am happy to support you and your family any way I can. SOAR EAGLE!

I hope all our Eagles have enjoyed their summer! I am the U.S. History and Consumerism teacher. I have been working hard this summer preparing for the new school year. I also went zip lining and horseback riding in North Carolina. I have two children, Ethan and Emma. I am the ultimate football and cheer mom. During the year I spend my weekends cheering them on! Can't wait to see you soon!

Hello Eagles! My name is Nancy Garousi, and I am so excited to join The Freedom Institute this year! Originally a New Jersey native, I've lived in Collier County for the past 21 years. I am the proud mom of 2 amazing adult children and 3 large dogs! During my free time I love to workout, cook, and travel with Mr. Garousi and the pups! Along with being a Success Coach, I will be teaching Biology, Biology Honors, English and English Honors. I have no doubt we will learn a lot together and have fun with projects, experiments and activities. For those that like to cook, I will be running the Culinary Club on Fridays, too! Looking forward to an amazing year!!

I’m so excited to be the Math Success Coach this school year at Freedom. I have been busy planning our Algebra 1 and Geometry curriculums and have been loving meeting some of our incredible Eagles over the summer. I’m looking forward to meeting the rest of you this month!

Lauren Grady, a versatile artist, mentor, and mom, stands out in various roles. Lauren’s ability to weave historical narratives into her photography is paralleled by her skill in storytelling for The Freedom Institute’s brand, making complex ideas accessible and engaging.

Her dedication to mentorship has dramatically impacted the lives of many students, inspiring them to harness their inner creativity. Lauren’s ability to connect with people is well-recognized, enhancing her role as a Marketing Director. She is a proud mom to a gifted 13-year-old. Lauren’s passion for her roles, from art to mentorship, resonates with people from all walks of life.
