Introductory Newsletter

As we learn more about growth and development of infants, toddlers, and preschoolers, we know that early care and education is so important. Our priority is to help the public to see the importance and learn more about what the Vermilion Parish Early Childhood Network has to offer. So before we dive in, we want to thank you for your assistance with this informational campaign in our local communities!

• The local community network consists of publicly-funded early childhood care and education programs that promote and improve kindergarten readiness.
• This includes Type III Childcare Centers, Head Start and Early Head Start, and Public School PreK programs.
• The age range served by the network is birth to five year old children who have not yet entered kindergarten.
• Publicly funded means that the care and education is covered through local, state, or federal funds and the site participates in the quality star child care rating system.

In order to get the word out about early care and education, we are asking you to do the following:

2. Share our posts. Share online or tell a friend!
3. Read our quarterly newsletter (emailed to you in the Fall, Winter, Spring, and Summer). Share the information you learn from the newsletter with the people you interact with in our community.

That's it! We'll provide the content and you provide the VOICE!

As we grow our network, we may have various volunteer opportunities we will offer to our coalition members first before asking in the community. These are optional activities that may occur in the coming year.

With the help of our 2023-24 Coalition members, we were able to bring awareness of early childhood initiatives and educate 499 new Facebook followers and 914 new page likes! Our current number of Facebook followers is over 1300...and growing!!!
