And now, a word from our teachers across the school...
7th and 8th Grade Band
Our band scored a Superior for Stage Performance and a rating of Excellent overall at this year's Concert Performance Assessment. Way to go J-E-T musicians!
Advanced Chorus
On March 10th, the Advanced Chorus classes had a guest clinician come in to have class with them. Gabriel Carter, producer and music programmer from Detroit, taught the students about the recording process. The students recorded a cover of Stevie Wonder's "As" and got to experience a live recording as well as see the beginnings of mixing and mastering a song. Gabriel produced Ms. Shoffner's single, "Never Be Defeated."
Read Across America Week
We celebrated Read Across America Week with several fun activites. A visit from the ABBE Library bookmobile allowed many students to tour the van and ask questions. We also celebrated reading with dress as a character or theme from a book day, participated in creative writing activites, identified character silhouttes from some of our favorite books, and even read to a few high school students.
