LHS 1.12.25
Dear LHS Families:
We hope that all of you had a fabulous break and are off to having a wonderful start to the new year!
With the start of the new year, we all tend to reflect upon our previous experiences and choices over the past year(s). This annual change typically encourages us to set new goals for ourselves, reevaluate our journeys, and focus on new ways to become even better versions of ourselves as we move our way throughout our lives. As adults, we know the importance of doing this regularly and consistently if we want to grow and change for our betterment - teenagers often do not. With that being said, we highly encourage you to take the time to have growth mindset conversations with your student(s)/children regularly. We understand that parenting teenagers can sometimes be challenging, difficult, and highly emotional which can often leave one feeling defeated. We get it - we're parents too! (HERE is a great resource to checkout, should you need help figuring out how to have a conversation with your teen on how to build resiliency and improve their overall success in both school and life.)
Exam Information
With exams coming up in the next couple of weeks, it is extremely important that students remain focused on their academics and do everything they can before final grades get stored for Semester 1. To support them at home, you can: Have your student(s) access their PowerSchool to ensure big assignments/projects are completed and/or submitted, encourage them to talk to their teachers if they have questions/need help, coach them on how to create good study habits and quiz them, and help them set up a plan to get through the next couple of weeks successfully as we inch closer to the end of the semester.
