Kindergarten, 1st and 2nd Graders enjoyed an informative and fun visit from the Chelmsford Fire Department!

Many of our traditional Byam end of the year activities are just around the corner. Check out the list of these activities below:

May 21- Walk-A-Thon

May 25, 26, 27- Kindergarten Screening

June 1- States Festival (Gr. 4)

June 2nd - Field Day for Grades 1-4

June 3rd - Field Day for Kindergarten

June 3- Byam Musical performances (for students only)

June 6-7- Kindergarten Celebration

June 8 - MS tour for 4th graders

June- 8-9- Grade 1 Books and Blankets/Three Billy Goats Gruff

June 10- 4th Grade Celebration

June 17- All School Clap Out (1/2 day for students, last Byam day)

As noted by Dr. Lang this week, we have seen an uptick in the number of positive cases of Covid-19 at Byam. Many of the cases are related to outside activities and household exposures.

We are also seeing cases of flu and Strep here and in the community.

Please continue to monitor your child daily for illness symptoms and keep home if not feeling well. If having Covid-19 symptoms, remember that a negative Covid-19 test or note from the doctor with an alternative diagnosis is required for return to school.

If your child or someone in the household tests positive or is considered a close contact, please follow the CPS Covid-19 Protocol (found on our website, under Health Services https://chelmsfordschools.org/departments/health-services/?_gl=1*1rifwcb*_ga*NzE1ODk2MjUzLjE2MjA2NTYyODM.*_ga_76RXLF75QZ*MTY1MjM1NjcyNy44Ni4wLjE2NTIzNTY3MjcuMA.) and also follow CDC isolation and quarantine guidelines.

Please continue to report cases of Covid-19, flu and Strep cases to me, either by phone or email.

Other strategies include receiving vaccination for Covid-19 and for flu, optionally wearing a mask, and keeping hands clean or sanitized.

THE WALK A THON IS SATURDAY MAY 21ST, 11AM-3PM!!! STOP BY ANYTIME TO JOIN THE FUN!

☀️ It's going to be HOT on Saturday, but the Walk-A-Thon will go on! We are fortunate that our event coordinators are very prepared. There will be misting stations set up, Trinity Health/EMS will be there, and we will have extra pop-up tents for shade. There are no requirements for staying any length of time. This is a fun event for families to stop in as their day permits. We hope many families bring their own pop-up tents and blankets, and set up around the school on the field. That way, the kids can take any breaks they may need. It will be a fun day! Don't forget to wear sunscreen!

WE ARE MONSTERS MUSICAL!

Byam students have been working really hard on the school musical, We are Monsters! Here is a little sneak preview of the kids at rehearsal! The show will be June 2 at 6:30 at McCarthy for the families of our actors, and June 3 at Byam during the school day for the students!
