Dear Charger Families,

Happy Friday! Next week we will hold our Semester Exams. A few things to note.

We are not allowed to give Semester Exams early, per the Teaching & Learning Departments directive. Students are required to take the test on the day of their class period.

If your child misses their semester exam please reach out to your child's teacher and counselor and let us know as soon as possible. The make up date for the test is Wednesday, January 8th at the BMSS library.

Lost and Found:

Has you child misplaced a water bottle, hoodie, shoes, lunch box or others item? CHECK LOST & FOUND! All LOST & FOUND items will be on display on the cafeteria stage all next week. Please encourage your child to check the stage before leaving for Christmas Break. All unclaimed items will be donated to non-profit organizations once students leave on Friday, December 14, 2024.

Door Dash/Food Delivery thru a 3rd party:

The BMSS Front Office cannot accept Food Deliveries from a 3rd party company such as Door Dash. We have shared with students at school, please speak with your child about this as well. In the past there were incidents of food disappearing, Door Dash employees not being paid, items being brought onto campus that are not allowed at school.
If your child forgets their lunch at home or does not have money to purchase a lunch. Please tell them to talk with the BISD employee working the cash register. We can charge to your child's account and have them pay later. We do this for the safety and well being of you child and all students at BMSS. If you have any questions, please let us know.

Parents/Guardians

All Final Exam absences must be pre-approved by administration. Please contact the teacher by December 13th if your student is going to be absent the day of a final exam. FIRST SEMESTER FINAL EXAM MAKE-UP DAY WILL ONLY BE JANUARY 8, 2025 starting at 9:00am at BMSS. Any missed exams after January 8, 2025 will receive a grade of zero.

Congratulations to our very own BMSS Counseling Team on receiving a CREST Award for counseling excellence! Their leadership and advocacy for serving their students, campus, district, and community is commendable.

Ms. Schwab our Attendance Clerk will not be on campus thru the end of the year.

As your 6th grader receives their 11/12-year old vaccines this year, please remember to turn in an updated shot record to the school nurse. These vaccines are required for 7th grade, so let's get ahead of the game! Thank you for helping us keep our records up-to-date and our students healthy!

On a side note, donations of feminine products would be greatly appreciated.

Good morning BISD families,

I am excited to announce that the referral window for the Gifted and Talented Program will be open from November 15th to December 17th. This is a wonderful opportunity for you to nominate your child for consideration in our Gifted and Talented Program, which is designed to provide advanced educational opportunities for students who demonstrate exceptional abilities.

If you believe your child would benefit from this program, please take the time to submit a referral during this window. Additional information about the process, including the referral link, can be found on the district’s Advanced Academics website linked here.

Applications must be completed each school year. If you had benefits last year and have not completed a new application this school year, your benefits expired on September 24th. Get your 2024-2025 application submitted today!
