designed to keep young minds engaged & learning!
Alpena Public Schools is offering in-person summer learning for our K-2 students. The goal is to keep students thinking while having fun participating in hands-on learning adventures focusing on literacy, math and science. This opportunity is free of charge for APS families.

WHO?
Open to all K-2 students.
WHEN?
June 11, 12, and 13; June 18, 19, and 20; June 25, 26, and 27
KINDERGARTEN Session 8:30-11:00
1st GRADE Session 11:30-2:00
2nd GRADE Session 2:30-5:00
Snacks and outdoor break time provided at each session
WHERE?
Your choice of Lincoln Elementary or Sanborn Elementary (pending sufficient enrollment)
WHAT?
Learning adventures include:
- daily reading practice based on the science of reading
- math concept review through math games and writing
- literature based stem explorations that promote creative problem solving
- daily interactive and independent writing opportunities
- science experiments
- literacy games to review phonics skills & high frequency word knowledge
- learning through songs and movement
- Students will receive a tote bag of learning materials at the conclusion of the program to support the continuation of their summer learning!
