Trillium Tweet
January 31, 2020
Trillium Community,
We are already well into the new year! With January coming to a close it is a perfect time to check in on the goals that we set for ourselves as we rang in 2020! This is a great time to assess our progress so far, recognizing what we have accomplished while remembering why we are holding those goals in mind. This weekend, please check in with your children about the goals that they set for themselves at school and ask how you can help them continue to make progress to achieve them.
Although it seems far away now, it really won’t be long before your children share their progress with you at spring conferences. Please mark your calendars for March 18th and 19th so that you are able to attend your children’s conferences to review their learning goals and celebrate their progress together. Please make these days a priority. It is so important to your children to have this time with you!
In the meantime, let’s work together to make February a strong month of learning for all. This is a key time in the school year for students to really dig into their learning and push themselves to practice excellence.

Community Care Day
Celebration of Friendship
As we move into February, many of our kids start to think about our next opportunity for celebration. At school, we have two classroom celebrations each year, a Celebration of Friendship and a Celebration of Learning. These celebrations are intended to support our school vision of creating a culture of excellence and equity within a community of care. Our Celebration of Friendship is meant to strengthen the sense of community within the classroom/grade level. This celebration is a classroom event rather than a community event. Parents are not expected to attend, with the exception of the parent volunteers that are working with the teachers to prepare the class party details. Our Celebration of Friendship is held on the last Friday before Valentine’s Day each year, so this year it will fall on February 14th. Teachers will coordinate with parent volunteers to provide students with a celebration that includes all students and is sensitive to allergies and dietary restrictions. Watch for more information from your child’s teacher regarding this upcoming celebration.

Let’s Make Money With Cans!
Do you have extra cans and bottles you need to turn in? Walmart is allowing Trillium Creek along with Rosemont, Athey Creek, Stafford, Meridian, and Cedar Oak, to turn in Cans, plastics, and glass at their West Linn location.
Drop box located at the end of the check out aisle inside the store. If you have glass, simply use the machine outside, write our school name on the paper print out, and take it to customer service.
If you don’t already, start saving your cans/plastic/glass bottles and turn them in. We get $.10 a can in return. What an easy way to make some money for our school!
