Dorian School Picture Day 9/26
Barbara Morgan at Space Day - Children's Museum
Several students were able to meet our namesake Barbara Morgan at Space Day at the Children's Museum of Idaho! Here are some photos of Riley meeting her and getting his shirt signed by Barbara Morgan!
Roaring Rockets Run!
All the information you need for the PTO Roaring Rockets Run Fundraiser! Kickoff was September 23rd! Students run on Oct 4th!
Ms. Hudson's class is moving mountains with CVC words!
When young readers start putting together first words, the simplest way to begin is with CVC words. Students make the transition from recognizing and identifying letters and associating those letters with unique sounds to sounding out simple words. CVC is the foundation to reading. Great job 1st grade students!
West Ada Board Meeting Opening Pledge
BMSA Student Council and Mrs. Miller's 2nd Graders opened the 9/23 board meeting with the pledge. Mrs. Miller's class learned the pledge in sign language, taking time to learn about all the iconic images that are within our Pledge of Allegiance. Great job students! Thank you, parents, students, Counselor Emma, Mrs. Teeter, and Mrs. Miller, for coordinating this opportunity.
Texas Roadhouse Drive & Dine 9/30 (order by 9/27)

Playground Dutys Needed!
We are in urgent NEED of a playground aide, one hour per day, to help supervise children during the lunch hour. This is a paid position. If you or a family member are interested in helping BMSA in this way, please contact Mrs. Brown at brown.sarah@westada.org and apply by clicking the link below:
Drop Off and Pick Up
To ensure an efficient drop off and pick up at school:
- Loop is for self-sufficient student loading and unloading. Park in lot if your child needs more time.
- Unload/loading only on the curb side straight away next to the benches
- Give buses right of way as they are on a schedule.
- Students are ready to unload in the morning and must watch for their vehicle at afternoon pick up.
- Students must have an adult with them in the parking lot. No crossing the lot alone.
- Pull all the way forward to quickly drop off/load.
- Driver remains in the vehicle.
- All students should be picked up by 4:10
- If you need to speak with a teacher, please schedule a time to meet.
- Building is closed to visitors when school ends unless prior arrangements have been made.
Thank you for helping these busy times run efficiently and safely!
Meet our SRO, Officer Peterson!
Officer Victoria Peterson is our BMSA SRO. You might see her at school often as her office is located here at BMSA. She also serves both Ponderosa and Chaparral Elementaries. School Resource Officers are a valuable addition to our community. They are positive community builders, help keep us safe, and even play sometimes! We appreciate Officer Peterson and all the SROs that partner MPD with West Ada School District!
Walk and Roll, Safety Stroll 10/2
This event is a great reminder about staying safe as a young pedestrian! We will start to gather at 8:30 and leave the park at 8:45 to safely walk and roll to school. Mayor Simison will be joining us too!

· Walk your bike or scooter across a cross walk
· Wear a helmet when on a bike or scooter
· Use reflectors, flashing lights, or wear bright colors to be easily seen
· Never get in a vehicle with someone without parents' permission
