Need help on the PSAT/Revised SAT?

We live in a rural area where there is little focus on SAT and ACT prep. As a result, our students are at a disadvantage to students who live in urban areas with test prep resources.

It's true, in Texas, many students go to state schools under the "top 10% rule" or "top 8% rule." In fact, many private schools use standardized test scores as the first "round" to sort students. Additionally, good SAT and ACT scores are often used to determine scholarship recipients since GPA is so different depending on the state and district.

Parents and students also have a misconception that we are focusing on SAT and ACT test-taking strategies at school. Most teachers do not; since some of the students in our classes will not be attending college, this is not a skill set that each student needs.
