2024 COUNTY FAIR SCHEDULE

Ever wonder why we judge 4-H exhibits? The answer is in our motto: To Make the Best Better! The “best” we strive to “make better” is young people. Our goal in judging exhibits is to help members achieve the best in themselves. Through the judging process, youth receive feedback that helps them determine where they are now, how well they’re doing, and where they can improve.

The 2024 Fair shirts have been ordered and will be in soon. Please make sure to send a big and hardy "THANK-YOU" to our generous donors - Polk County Farm Bureau and Farm Bureau Financial Services-Don Sterup.

If you show livestock or small animals, you will need to wear your t-shirt for the show.

If anyone would like to order an additional shirt, you can by clicking👉 HERE. Once taken to the site, find the "products" link and choose t-shirts. When your shirt is done, you will be responsible for picking it up from Rustic Dry Goods in York. (Shirts ordered before July 1st will be available for pick up in our office)

Mark Your Calendars!

Put your 🖐🏻🖐🏻HANDS 🖐🏻🖐🏻 TO LARGER SERVICE and help prepare the fairgrounds for the Polk County Fair. Superintendents and Fair Board Members need help cleaning and prepping their areas for you to showcase your exhibits and animals at the fair. There will be a list in the Exhibit Building of some of the items that need to be accomplished that night. You can also ask the Superintendents of any given area what needs to be done in that area. There is a lot to do, but many 🖐🏻🖐🏻hands🖐🏻🖐🏻 make light work!

As thanks for your help, Farm Credit Services of Columbus will be serving supper around 7:15.

We have attached some of the supporting information templates to your tags. YOUR EXHIBITS MAY STILL NEED SOME ADDITIONAL INFORMATION!! Please check the fair book and read carefully to make sure you have all the information required for each of your projects!

There are many events and contests that take place before the first day of fair. These are all great opportunities for 4-H members to grow in knowledge and know-how. If you are new to 4-H or have an interest in any of these, but don't know that much about them, show up and observe the day!
