Congratulations to our students, staff, families, and community on finishing the 2021-2022 school year together! It was certainly an interesting time with all of the challenges that COVID-19 has provided our community. Thank you to each of you for your patience and perseverance as we navigated an unforgettable 180 days.

As we move into summer, we hope you get to enjoy time outside, a chance to recharge, and an opportunity to reflect on what you accomplished this year. We look forward to celebrating our seniors next week with graduation and are already anticipating the next time we come back together to learn.

Graduation season is here, and we want our families to be able to attend in person and online. Please use the above live stream links for family and friends that would like to watch online. The CSA New Tech graduation ceremony will be held Friday, May 27, 7pm at Columbus East High School. Graduation ceremonies for CNHS and CEHS students will be held on Saturday, May 28. CNHS is at 10am and CEHS at 1pm.

Did you know that BCSC has been recognized as one of the Best Communities in the nation for music education? The award program recognizes outstanding efforts by teachers, administrators, parents, students and community leaders who have made music education part of a well-rounded education. Designations are made to districts and schools that demonstrate an exceptionally high commitment and access to music education. Congratulations to all of our staff, students, and families that make music education a priority for our community!

BCSC is excited to announce that all of our elementary STEM labs will be entering the robotic world in 2022-2023 after receiving $34,500 in grant funding from IN-MaC and TechPoint Foundation for Youth! With these grants, all eleven of our elementary schools will have the chance to participate in hands-on science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) learning through an entry-level robotics platform as well as learn necessary skills for today's manufacturing world. Special thanks to BCSC STEM Coordinator Davida Harden for her hard work to help our students receive this opportunity.

Rockcreek Elementary's Amy Elsbury and CSA Lincoln Elementary's Jill Garris were both honored this week by receiving the William and Sally Hanley Excellence in Teaching Award.

Established in 2000, the award recognizes outstanding elementary teachers in the Bartholomew Consolidated School Corporation and comes with a monetary stipend. Recipients are nominated by their principals and must demonstrate dedication to their job, exemplary initiative and contributions to improve the school and its environment. Nominations are accompanied by letters of recommendation from the principal, fellow teachers, parents and students.
