Dear parents and carers.
It has been so lovely to have a week of sunshine. We have spent lots of time enjoying having the opportunity to take our learning outside; hopefully summer is here to stay.
Yesterday, Rashford class had a great time exploring York's Castle Museum as part of their Victorian topic. They particularly enjoyed investigating the Victorian street and came back full of excitement about their day. They are going to be looking at the history of toys as part of their topic, and will be creating their own toy museum which I am looking forward to visiting!
Today was filled with colour, with children dressing in a vibrant array of clothing to celebrate how fantastically diverse we all are, for our Kirk Fenton does Pride day. We have spent time thinking about how lucky we are to live in a place where we can be who we choose to be.
Next week, on Wednesday and Thursday, children will be spending two days in their new classrooms with their new teachers. Further details about this will be emailed on Monday. Our lovely year 6 children will also be visiting their new classes next week, when they spend time in their new schools.
This is likely to hit your inbox whilst the summer fair is in full swing! A big thank you to the Friends of Kirk Fenton committee, and the other parents and carers who have helped at this event. These things take an awful lot of organising and we are so grateful that we have parents who are able to put so much time and effort into raising valuable funds for the school.
Thank you for your ongoing support.
