Magyar's Message Feb. 2, 2024
-From The Desk of the Superintendent-
Dear ALCS Families,
Welcome to February! We are another month closer to Spring.
National School Counseling Week 2024 is February 5-9 and highlights the tremendous impact school counselors have in our schools. The work that our counselors do daily to engage, motivate, and promote confidence in our students is integral to their future success. Thank you to all of our counselors for supporting our students, staff and families.
Westview/Eastview: Tina Edwards
Redwood/Erieview: Hope Hayden
Troy: Beth Randazzo and Pat Walsh
Learwood: Mike Kaiser and Linda Schanz

Our winter sports athletes are continuing to achieve great success. History was made this week as Mallory Zadel is the first ever Shoregals wrestler to win a boys varsity match. Congratulations! She won 11-5 over Avon at 113 lbs. Congratulations also to our Shoremen swimmers for winning the SWC championship last week for the fourth consecutive time.
Tonight (February 2) is opening night for “The Hunchback of Notre Dame’' from Mighty Goliath Productions (MGP). Show times/dates are 7 p.m. February 2, 3, 9 and 10, and 1:30 p.m. February 4 and 10. The February 4 performance is a sensory-friendly performance including American Sign Language interpreters for the entire show. The performances will be at Avon Lake High School’s Daniel B. Ross Performing Arts Center, 175 Avon Belden Road. Proceeds benefit our Avon Lake High School Drama Department. For tickets, go to mightygoliath.com.
Reminder, if you have not already completed our survey regarding future planning initiatives, please take a moment to offer your feedback. We will take responses through February 29. Click here.
If you know someone in our community that is currently not affiliated with our schools, but would like to receive information regarding our schools, please have them subscribe to our email list at the following link, click here.
Thank you for your continued support of our schools.
Sincerely,
Joelle Magyar
