Indian Peaks Elementary: Moose News
November 22, 2024
A Week in Photos!
We have had our busiest week of the year yet! Take a look at what happened at Indian Peaks this week:
We also hosted a Cafecito for our Preschool Families, where we discussed how families can support early literacy skills through oral language! Thank you to Mrs. Ernst and the Preschool Department for sharing the love of reading books with our families!
The Boulder Ballet visited our school this week to share the art of dance with our Kindergarten - 5th Grade students. Thank you to our specials teachers, Mr. Knight, Mr. Emanuel, and Mrs. Auernhamer for creating enriching learning opportunities for all students!
Congratulations to our students who were nominated for November Student of the Month! We are so proud of you!
Canned Food Drive
A reminder that our annual Canned Food Drive will kick off on Monday, December 2nd! The drive will be benefiting the OUR Center, here in Longmont. Our goal is to collect non-perishable food items, hygiene items, and toiletries to help stock their community market. If you would like to donate any items, please have your student bring them to school starting Monday, December 2nd. See the list of items needed below:
Thanksgiving Reading Challenge
We hope your students are ready for the Thanksgiving Reading Challenge!
Students can read books on either MyOn or Sora, two of our online library systems, and have their minutes tracked. Schools with the most minutes read earn a prize that goes towards school needs.

Middle of the Year Testing
A reminder that Middle of the Year assessments begin after Thanksgiving Break. These assessments are important in helping us see each student's progress as well as set goals for the next months.
If your student will be out due to travel during the month of December, please let the classroom teacher and the front office know in advance so that we can schedule make-up testing sessions for your student.
December Late Start
A reminder that Wednesday, December 4th is Late Start. School starts at 11:40am. Buses run 2.5 hours later than their normal time.
Registration for the 2025-26 School Year

This is for families new to Indian Peaks who live outside of our attendance area as well as any Kindergarten students who will be attending Indian Peaks next year.
