Bulldog Blast

Note From Principal Pautler
Greetings Bulldogs ~
Have you ordered your tickets for "She Loves Me" yet? For those of you who may not know - our award winning theatre department is literally known across the state for excellence in musical theatre. This past summer, the decision was made to run two musicals this performance season. The fall one is a smaller less elaborate production but will still be AMAZING. Come spring - hold on to your hats as we go all out with the show... Tickets for our show are for specific seating so it does pay to click on the link and get your tickets ahead of time. "She Loves Me" opens October 10th!
We've had a change to our football schedule. The game against Norman North has been moved to Thursday, September 26th. This is a road game so we wanted to make sure that those students traveling down to Norman - would be traveling on the correct day. That's kind of important. We hope to get a good crowd to join us on the road!
EMHS will be hosting a Blood Drive on Wednesday, September 25th. Criteria for participation is below. It's the "People Juice" add that cracks me up every time I look at it. I had no idea that the people who worked at the blood institute were so funny. All students participating must have a signed permission slip to do so. When your 16-18 year old student comes to ask you if they can participate - please take into consideration what the rest of their day looks like. It's difficult to donate blood and then be physically active. Use that parental right to say yes or no. If your student rolls their eyes at you - just know that's the international sign for "you're doing a good job parenting!"
Now - onto something less vampire like - families with graduating seniors - please know that the Jostens reps will be here for senior cap/gown sales this next Thursday and Friday in the upper commons. This is the beginning of the prep for graduation which takes place on May 16th. Your seniors heard from the Jostens reps yesterday during an assembly. Hopefully, this is a smooth and easy process for you.
Have a GREAT weekend Memorial. Last weekend to get that special fair food!! We'll see you next week.

Esports to Compete at the OK State Fair
I have some pretty impressive news - due to the talents and track record of our school's Esports program, we have been personally invited to compete at the Oklahoma State Fair's "Skyline Esports" event for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate!
This Saturday, September 21st, starting at around 11 AM (warmups are at 10, so they might start a little earlier if things are all set up), top middle school and high school programs from the OKC area will be competing at the Oklahoma Expo Hall, amidst a number of other events for college-age competitors.
The High School section of the competitions will interrupt briefly at 12:30ish and resume around 1:30, concluding around 4 PM after the Grand Finals match is all wrapped up. If you should find yourself at the State Fair this weekend - stop on by the Oklahoma Expo Hall and watch the DOGS!!
Cheer Regional TOMORROW!!
Homecoming Week - Sept. 30 - Oct. 4
EMHS Homecoming is in just a few short weeks and we have LOTS of activities planned! Our homecoming game is also an EDLAM gave vs. Santa Fe so the house should be full that night!! Here's a bit of what to expect for our 2024 homecoming week!
EVENING ASSEMBLY & PARADE NIGHT - OCTOBER 3RD...
"WE BUILT THIS CITY!"
Parade: EMHS clubs and orginazation will parade the streets around Memorial starting at 4:30 and should be wrapped up at 5:00. It's always fun to see how our groups organize themselves to support all things EMHS. We encourage you to come on at that afternoon and join us for this long standing tradition.
After the parade.....
Tailgate: Food trucks will be open from 5:00-7:00 around the stadium area. If you and your student are coming back for the evening assembly - come join us for a bite to eat!
Assembly: The homecoming assembly takes place outside at the football field and is always a great time. Starts at 7:15ish... It's obviously a little different compared to hosting them inside - but - it's still a great time!!
Fireworks: Fireworks will start no earlier than 8. Yes - if you are new to Memorial you are reading that correctly... We host a fireworks show on campus after the evening assembly.
It's a GREAT evening for everyone as we remember that -- WE BUILT THIS CITY!!!
