Happy Birthday! 🎂

Blacktop Work 🚧
We wanted to inform you that we are potentially having work done on our blacktop on Monday, September 30th. While we are still waiting for confirmation, this may impact drop-off and pick-up procedures. To help with traffic flow and minimize disruptions, students can be dropped off as early as 7:00 AM and can be picked up starting at 2:00 PM on Monday only.
We appreciate everyone’s patience as we work through these changes, and we will send out a ClassDojo message to confirm whether the work will take place. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation!

Blessing of the Animals 🐶
We’re thrilled to have Fr. George joining us for the *Blessing of the Animals* on Friday, October 4th! The time is still being finalized, but will most likely be around or a little after 12 noon. Whether your child brings their beloved pet—real or stuffed—Fr. George will offer a special blessing for all. It’s a beautiful tradition to honor St. Francis of Assisi and celebrate the special bond we share with our pets. Don’t forget to check ClassDojo for the final details, and we look forward to seeing you there! All are welcome!
Prayer of St. Francis of Assisi (Prayer for Peace)
Lord, make me an instrument of your peace:
where there is hatred, let me sow love;
where there is injury, pardon;
where there is doubt, faith;
where there is despair, hope;
where there is darkness, light;
where there is sadness, joy.
O divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek
to be consoled as to console,
to be understood as to understand,
to be loved as to love.
For it is in giving that we receive,
it is in pardoning that we are pardoned,
and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.

LBC Community Events 🌸
Resources from CPLA 💌
CPLA (Counseling Partners of Los Angeles) has shared some resources on the topic of depression.
"Depression is becoming an increasingly prevalent issue amongst adults and children alike. It is our goal at CPLA for your school community to be informed about the symptoms and treatments for depression so that no child, teacher, or parent suffers alone."
CPLA has counselors for parents as well. If you would like more information, please reach out to Miss Dueñas for more information.
After School Snack Sales 🍭
We’re excited to announce that we will be starting after-school snack sales every Tuesday and Thursday! Items will vary each week, but we’ll do our best to always offer some fan favorites. Students can begin purchasing snacks at 2:45 pm, and sales will wrap up by 3:20 pm.
Since we’re just getting started, this is a fantastic opportunity for parents to earn service hours! We’re looking for 4 parent volunteers per day to help out on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2:30 pm to 3:30 pm. If you’re interested, please call and let Miss Jasmine know.
We also welcome donations, which can count toward service hours as well! More details to come once we’ve had a few sales. Let’s make this a fun and successful project for our students!
