SUN Bucks
This summer, eligible families can receive $120 per school-aged child through SUN Bucks, a new grocery benefit to help cover the cost of food when school is out.
SUN Bucks is available to students who are approved for free or reduced-price meals and is designed to work alongside other benefits like SNAP and WIC.
Here's what families need to know:
- Students already approved for free or reduced-price meals will automatically receive SUN Bucks.
- Students at “No Cost” meal schools must apply and be approved for free or reduced-price meals to qualify.
- Don’t miss out—apply now to ensure you receive the benefit!
- Make sure your mailing address is current in Skyward so you get your SUN Bucks card on time.
Learn more and apply: dshs.wa.gov/sunbucks.
Please note: the Skyward system will be dark beginning July 2, 2025 and is slated to be live by July 21, 2025.
The Skyward Student Information System is transitioning to a new version called Skyward Qmlativ during the month of July. Family and student data will be automatically migrated to the new system, but the system will be locked for users during the migration. Families will notice some changes in the look and feel of the new system and the hope is the user experience is more friendly. Login information will remain the same for families.
