GSACRD Community Engagement
We are thrilled to present a unique opportunity for you to actively participate in shaping the future of Legal School. Greater St. Albert Catholic School Division (GSACRD) is reaching out to seek input on the topic of "Programming and School Configuration", and your insights matter!
Mark your calendars for the engagement session scheduled on November 29th, 2023, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Legal School. Can't Make It in Person? No Problem! You can still contribute online by using the Engagement Tool: https://bit.ly/3SGuSI2 . Whether you can make it in person or prefer to contribute online, your input is highly valued.
Here's a brief overview:
As GSACRD continues to make strides in addressing infrastructure, managing enrollment growth, and exploring new frontiers, exciting opportunities in program and grade configuration have emerged. The feedback from school communities will be pivotal in shaping decisions related to grades, programs, and funding. It's important to note that no final decisions have been made, making your perspective exceptionally valuable. Learn more at: https://bit.ly/47cxZM6
Thank you for being an integral part of the journey to shape the future of Legal School and, by extension, our community.

Turn “what-ifs” into “even-ifs”!
How easy is it for doubts and fears to creep in when preparing to try and/or learn something new? Both inside and outside of school, children are often found in these situations which can be exciting, but also anxiety provoking and you may notice some doubts creeping in.
When your child is feeling anxious or doubtful, it is helpful to remind them that even if things don’t turn out the way they had originally planned, it will be ok. Rather than being consumed by the “what-ifs'”, by helping your child shift to a “even-if” mindset will provide them the reassurance they need to know that no matter what the outcome is, they will be ok and they can perservere!
Tune into Big Life Journal’s episode of ‘Overcoming Anxiety and Doubt’ on Spotify for more information on this topic!

Indigenous Student Art Contest 2023
Contest Details:
We are calling on all Indigenous students in Greater St. Albert Catholic Schools. The Division is seeking submissions of Indigenous-themed art from our First Nations, Métis, and Inuit students in Kindergarten through Grade 12. As Greater St. Albert Catholic Schools continues on its journey toward meaningful reconciliation with our Indigenous brothers and sisters, we want to provide an opportunity for our Indigenous students to use their talents and give us a hand. Artwork will be reviewed and selected by our Division First Nations, Métis and Inuit Leadership Committee, which includes representatives from our First Nations and Métis partners.
The theme is “Celebrating Indigenous Culture: Telling Our Stories Through Art,” and we are seeking both black and white (vivid black (marker, paint, or pencil crayon) and full-colour art submissions in each age/grade category. Another option available this year is a 10” x 10” canvas paint format (either full colour or black and white), which will be provided for interested students. If you wish to paint on a 10” x 10” canvas, please contact the Division Services Centre at 780-459-7711. Let them know you are calling regarding the Indigenous Student Art Contest and requesting a canvas for your artwork. Leave your name and phone number, and we will arrange a time.
Be creative! Feel free to seek inspiration from Indigenous art, dance, and culture. Inspiration might include the Medicine Wheel, 7 Grandfather Teachings, or #EveryChildMatters.
The Division may use submitted artwork in creating items to support our reconciliation journey (t-shirts, greeting cards, posters, social media posts, etc.).
See below for more details and application form.

Growing Tower
It was finally time to harvest all the lettuce and Swiss chard from the growing tower this morning. Ms. Doehring’s class checked out the roots and all the produce. Then the dynamics option students made a huge bowl of salad this afternoon! Such a yummy treat!! Time to start growing some new seeds! This is a great way to have science in action come alive for our students!
