Construction Craft Laborer Students Working
Hands-on learning in a pleasant outdoor setting can really enhance our students experience, especially with a skill as practical as concrete mixing & horizontal form building in an effort to enhance their work space. It all comes down to the leveling when it comes to concrete work!

Math Team
On Friday, October 18th, four math team members, seniors Alex Susol, Jordyn Hathaway, and Sam Terra, along with Junior Peyton Colonna, attended the 34th annual Worchester Poly-Technical Institute's Math Meet. The students competed against about 40 other schools from across Massachusetts. Though students didn't win the big prizes, we did have TWO students, Sam Terra and Jordyn Hathaway, walk away with a $1000 scholarship toward admission to WPI!!! They both had the highest score for our team. After the competition, students had a delicious lunch at one of the college's many dining halls and were able to explore the campus. It is a beautiful area and offers a ton of advanced STEM work. The whole day was very fun and informative. The students and I enjoyed all that WPI had to offer.
The Math Team attended their first meet of the 2024-2025 season at Case High School in Swansea Wednesday, October 23rd. Sixteen students, grades 8-12, competed against 5 other local high schools and tied for second with a score of 40! Our team's high scorers were Junior Maya Aminova with 12 points, Senior Sam Terra with 11 points, Sophomore Denzel Chukwu with 7 points and newbie Ocho James Agnetta with 7 points. All were recognized at the meet as being high scorers. We were very impressed by our underclassmen at this meet! The best news for the first meet: EVERYONE scored at least one point. We are very proud of them all!
Thank you to Advisors Menard and Murphy for their leadership!
Halloween Contest
Next Thursday, October 31st the THS Student Council will host a Halloween costume contest.

- Prizes will be awarded for the best costumes - winners will be announced during the afternoon announcements at the start of E block.

GATRA Expectations
As part of our commitment to ensuring that all students who rely on the GATRA public transportation system have a safe and positive experience, we would like to remind you of the rules and expectations for riding the GATRA bus. Following these guidelines will help maintain safety, respect, and comfort for all passengers.
How to Ride
- Arrive on Time: Please ensure that you arrive at the bus stop 3–5 minutes early.
- Be Visible to the Driver: Stand where the driver can see you clearly and wave to the bus as it approaches.
- Boarding: Enter the bus, have your bus pass ready, or be prepared to pay with cash.
- Seating and Standing: Once on board, sit down immediately. If no seats are available, stand behind the yellow line and remain there until you exit the bus.
Rules to Follow
To ensure that everyone enjoys their ride:
- Be Mindful of Others: Keep noise to a minimum by speaking at a low volume and using headphones for music.
- No Eating on the Bus: GATRA has a strict policy against eating while riding.
- Treat Others with Respect: Always be courteous and treat fellow passengers the way you wish to be treated.
Important Reminders
- Flag System: GATRA uses a flag system. You must wave to the driver when the bus is approaching for them to stop.
- Enforcement of Rules: GATRA may remove any passengers who do not follow the bus rules or engage in behavior that makes the ride unsafe for others.
We ask that you review these guidelines with your student to ensure they understand the expectations when riding the GATRA. By working together, we can create a safe and respectful environment for all passengers.
If you have any questions or need further information, please do not hesitate to contact the school or GATRA directly.
Thank you for your attention and cooperation.
