Greenville Splash Masters
January News Splash 2022
Now that 2021 is coming to an end.
It’s Swimmer of the Year time and that has been the trend!
This swimmer is amazing despite her “young” age to date.
When going to a swim meet she will never be late!
Swimming over 3,000 yards…3 times a week….
She swims to get better and stronger is what she seeks!
Contacting her Coaches every week all year,
She wants to improve her swims without any fear!
Teaching swim lessons is what she likes to do.
Always helping other swimmers to love the water….who knew?
Always up for relays when asked by her younger teammates…..
With a smile on her face…..no hesitation is her trait!
Kacky Elliott we are so proud of you.
You deserve this Swimmer of the Year award and we love you too!
Is it already time for 2021 to end?
What a year for Greenville Splash it has been!
Not many events have taken place.
So, who will be the Volunteer of the Year for today’s face?
This person is not a swimmer if that is a clue.
Some of you may not know him but maybe a few….
Supporting our open water swims this summer at the Lake,
Pouring down rain did not stop him from helping…thank goodness sake!
Always willing to paddle to keep our swimmers safe….
He is really tall and certainly no waif!
If you haven’t figured out the Volunteer of this Year.
It is Mike Tomashefski and he is right here!
All of us at Greenville Splash are most appreciate of you.
Here’s to our gratitude and a whole lot of love too!
Holiday Fun with Greenville Splash
Special Note from Coach Leslie
The holiday season proves to be the most wonderful time of the year at Greenville Splash. We had a blast at our annual holiday party! Thank you to Mark & Lisa Hohmann for hosting the event at the Riverbend Club House. I think there are a few gifts from the Dirty Santa that still are wanted by Mark Kothe! We have so much fun swimming through out the holiday season and thanks to all our coaches for helping to make the workouts so much fun.
A big shout out to all those that donated gifts and gift cards to special needs children and families in our community. Your generosity is much appreciated.
We have so many big plans for 2022 and we look forward to helping you meet your workout and fitness goals. Let us know if you want a coach to help work with your specific plans. We are excited to have our Adult Learn to Swim program be back in session this spring. Let Leslie know if you want to volunteer for this rewarding program. We are excited to start a new learn to swim program for Veterans.
January is the time of year to pay Greenville Splash team dues and USMS dues. They can be paid easily online, venmo, or by check. USMS dues can be paid online. See the buttons below for links. Thank you for your support.

2021 Swimmer of the Year: Kacky Elliott
Kacky Elliott inspires everyone at Greenville Splash! At 82 years old she keeps up her workout regime of swimming 3 times per week and swims at least 3,500 yards or 3,000 meters. She loves going to swim meets and at first her favorite event was the 50 Free. However she loves breaststroke and freestyle and this past year she added the 200 Back to her swim meet repertoire. She enjoys going to swim meets as she loves the excitement of the meet itself and she likes meeting swimmers from our team and other swimmers from around the country. Kacky learned how to swim at 7 years old and even remembers her swim instructor’s name. She was not on a swim team growing up, but she does remember getting invited to swim in the Peach Meet 1950-1956 where she earned several medals. She got her Red Cross Water Safety Instructor certificate in 1957 and has been teaching swim lessons ever since. She taught Red Cross lessons in Greenville for over 30 years and loved every minute of it. Kacky taught lessons in the early days of SAIL. Kacky volunteers at all our events and helps teach our Adult Learn to Swim program. What Kacky loves most about swimming is that it is a sport you can do well into advanced age. She loves competing in her age group because she says she comes out looking pretty good and we couldn’t agree more!
