Pro Grad Information
Project Graduation (ProGrad) is a post graduation party for Seniors that does not involve alcohol or drugs. It is aimed to prevent tragedies and foster the conscious decision to enjoy graduation night sober. The event this year will be at Main Event in Katy on graduation night, and is an old school “lock in”. We have private usage of the entire building which includes bowling, elevated gravity ropes, billiards, arcade games, video games, and laser tag. All food and snacks will be prepared fresh on site. The end of the event will be to use your ProGrad bucks you have earned throughout the year to purchase prizes in preparation for college or work life. Look for the Project Graduation table at lunch on Tuesdays for more information!

**Important ID information**
Dear FBISD Parents and Staff,
This year, the district is providing all students with school ID badges.
By Monday, August 19, 2024, most FBISD students will have received their badges, and they are required to wear them at all times at school and on buses.
The only student groups without badges presently are pre-kindergarten and kindergarten students. The process of photographing our littlest learners and creating their badges should be completed over the next several weeks.
The benefits of ID badges are:
- Increased security on school campuses – badges provide a quick way to know when someone may be trespassing onto a campus.
- Ease of transactions in cafeterias and libraries – badges may be used to purchase meals and check out books.
- Use with new Stopfinder bus software – bus riders will scan their badges when they get on and off buses to provide parents and school staff with nearly real-time information about bus arrival times and confirmation that students are on the right bus.
IMPORTANT NOTE: The district is in Phase 1 of using Stopfinder bus software. During this initial phase, the district will ensure Stopfinder is programmed to provide the most accurate data to parents and school staff.
During Phase 2, the parent app will be activated. Parents will receive a notification when the app is ready for downloading.

New laptop Resource available
To support 1:1 implementation, as well as technology use in general, we would like to make you aware of a new resource:
- In the Technology Training Library is an EquippED 1:1 subpage. This page houses various posters that may be used to help with best practices around the devices. These will mainly relate to the 1:1 device but some may also be utilized by elementary. Additional supports will be added as necessary.
- Within this page you will also find information around The FORT (FBISD Online Resource Toolbox). These are grade band specific resources that students will be automatically rostered into through Schoology at the start of the year. Job aids and supports related to technology will be available as well as digital citizenship lessons. Teachers are welcome to join the course and link to the files when needing support for technology in their lessons.

Important Board of Nursing Update
The district has received an update from the Board of Nursing (BON) about school nurses administering medication stating that: “A parent’s request is not sufficient by itself for nurses to administer medication. This is true for all nurses in every setting.” This means that effective immediately, parents’ requests for our campus nurses to administer medication will no longer be accepted. Instead, a physician’s order is now required for all medications. This includes prescription medications, oral and topical medications, as well as over-the-counter medications. The district is working to update the Student-Parent Handbook and related policies. This includes prescription medications, oral and topical medications, as well as over-the-counter medications. The District Parent-Physician Permit to Administer Medication form has been amended to reflect this update. Our standing orders for over the counter medications/products is attached and uploaded to Sharepoint. The signed copy for standing orders is on-file with school health services.

FBISD Health and Safety Protocols & How to Report Testing Positive for COVID-19
The health & safety of students, teachers, and staff is the District’s foremost priority. Students and staff should stay home when sick, and if they do test positive for COVID-19, self-report using the FBISD Wellness Screener. Individuals can return to school/work once they meet the following requirements: five days have passed since the start of symptoms (if no symptoms, five days after testing positive), improvement of symptoms, and the individual has been fever-free for 24 hours without the use of fever-reducing medications.
