Upper Grade Information
Upper Grade Popcorn Fundraiser
All upper grade families, be sure to create your online Double Good popcorn store. Share this link on your social media and through email to everyone you know. Also, be sure to tag Panorama Elementary on Facebook and Paoramaelempanthers on Instagram, so Panorama families of students in TK - 3 rd grade can find your store. 50% of the purchase price of the popcorn goes to the student's individual outdoor education account. There are a variety of flavors, and the popcorn is shipped fresh directly to the people who order. All families can help out our upper graders by purchasing some delicious popcorn from an upper grade students' store. Do not set up a store if your child is in grades TK - 3rd.
5th & 6th Grade Performance
Our 5th and 6th grade students will be participating in a performance to showcase their learning. All 5th and 6th grade families are invited to attend.
Open Enrollment Continues
Open Enrollment for the 2025-2026 school year will be open from January 13 - January 27, 2025.
Open Enrollment is for students who would like to attend a school other than their home school, assigned based upon their area of residence. You may find your "home" school by looking up your address at SchoolLocator at https://www.schoolsitelocator.com/apps/orangeusd/ If you are currently attending Panorama on open enrollment, you do need to apply each year. Please be sure to follow the directions below and access the application here: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1LzKV_1JMRnwhFXpjXfBY33mdnMP55xmAjNTC9DeppF8/viewform?edit_requested=true
Fill out your online application and submit one application per school site. You may submit the online open enrollment application to as many school sites as you like. The online applications for Open Enrollment will close on January 27, 2025, at 4:00 P.M., and will re-open February 3, 2025. School sites will hold their lottery and notify families of their lottery number, beginning January 31, 2025. Parents may accept or deny the space offered when contacted on February 3. If the parent denies the acceptance, the school site will move on to the next person on the list and parents may not change their mind once they have denied their acceptance.
If you require additional help, please contact the Office of Student and Community Services at 714-628-5424.

Attendance
If your child is absent, please call the office at 714-997-6265 or email Miss Cindi at cynthia.walsh@orangeusd.org to let us know why your child is not at school.
If you know your child will be absent in advance and you would like them to do work to receive credit for attendance, please contact the office as soon as possible. We can create an independent study contract for absences of any length, as long as the teacher has sufficient notice to prepare work. Three days used to be the minimum amount, but now we can do it for one day. By completing the work, your child will receive full credit on completed work during the time they are not at school, and their attendance will not be affected. If a child misses school due to a personal reason, this becomes a truancy; however, if your child completes their independent study contract it does not count as an absence.

Nutrition Services
All students need to be sure they let their teacher know the day before they buy lunch. We may not have enough lunches if they do not request one. Also, please remind your child that they should not be getting lunch if they bring one. On Wednesdays, due to the modified schedule, lunch is not served. Instead, we serve brunch at recess. Please remind your child to let their teacher know on Tuesday that they will be buying brunch on Wednesday.
