First Week of School Success!
Dear Coupeville Families and Community,
Thank you for a wonderful start to the 2024-2025 school year! It was exciting to see all of our families and students return to campus with excitement for another fantastic year in Coupeville.
As your new superintendent, I am thrilled to witness the established structures and routines both inside and outside the classrooms. I am inspired to see students leading assemblies with enthusiasm and staff members providing necessary support. The family positive atmosphere that I have felt throughout the week has been truly heartwarming, and I am filled with hope and anticipation for an incredible year ahead.
Thank you for entrusting us with your children. We are off to a fantastic start!
Sincerely,
Shannon Leatherwood, Superintendent
Coupeville School District

Back 2 School Event Success!
Class of 1974: Thank you for your donation!
🌻Back2School Event a Community Effort!
It was Back to School time as the Coupeville School District in conjunction with the Class of 1974 and the Coupeville Schools Foundation provided a place where school supplies were available for free for families that needed some help in filling out those supply lists.
The Class of 1974, with help from the Foundation, raised $3,000 to help fund the event. The class did this to honor Jim and Linda Hosek, two teachers that helped them in similar ways when they were Coupeville students.
Arianna Bumgarner, the district social work coordinator, arranged the event with the goal of making sure every student had what they needed to start the school year. The supply lists for each grade were available and parents and students could pick out notebooks, backpacks, calculators, pens, pencils, and even clothes to get the new year started. Doing our best to make sure students have what they need in school is an important value of the Coupeville School District and the support of the community is vital in ensuring all students can have the resources to fulfill their potential.
Many thanks to the Class of 1974 and the Coupeville Schools Foundation for helping make this event possible.
If you were not able to make the event, please contact Ms. Bumgarner at 262-528-3774 or abumgarner@coupeville.k12.wa.us to arrange a pick-up time.
If you would like to contribute to the Foundation to help students in need you may do so at their website www.4coupevilleschools.org.

Thank you to all who have reached out to me about the rented port-o-potties in Coupeville's downtown. This is just a temporary solution through CHWA's October Events, including the Torchlight Parade & Street Dance, Practical Magic Movie Nights, and the Great Pumpkin Race. Thank you to Salty Von's Waterfront Inn, WAIF, and Molka Xete for helping to pay for these port-o-potties in the historic commercial district!
