CONGRATULATIONS TO LEHS YEARBOOK TEAM & MRS. SHERRI WHITE

Congratulations! The 2021 yearbook produced by Sherri White and your yearbook staff is featured in the Jostens Look Book. Being showcased in this national annual publication is a significant achievement. A team of journalism experts selected approximately 458 yearbooks from almost two thousand that were submitted for consideration. Everyone at Jostens is proud to have played a part in producing your outstanding yearbook. We celebrate your success.

Last year's El Lobo edition also received a first place award from the American Scholastic Press Association.

We are super excited about our current yearbook which we are wrapping up and will be ready to distribute in May.

The UIL Academic Team competed over 3 days (March 25th/26th & April 2nd) at Rock Hill HS in Prosper ISD. Here are the individual & team results:

Melissa Sosa - 1st place Copy Editing (Regional Qualifier)

Summer Orr - 2nd place Headline Writing (Regional Qualifier) & 6th place Poetry

Aimua Ilogienboh - 3rd place Informative Speaking (Regional Qualifier)

Ayomikun Taiwo - 4th place Informative Speaking (Alternate to Regionals) & 6th place Spelling & Vocabulary

Katarina Meseke - 4th place Poetry (Alternate to Regionals)

Mercedes Xiong - 5th place News Writing

Anthony Florentino - 5th place Spelling & Vocabulary

Allison LeGros - 5th place Poetry

Mercedes Xiong - 6th place Feature Writing

Celeste Montoya - 6th place Headline Writing

Lillian Hill - 6th place Informative Speaking

Spelling & Vocabulary Team (Florentino, Taiwo, Sophia Garcia, & Aidan Semancik) - 2nd place team (Advancing to Regionals as Wild Card Team)

Speech Team - 2nd place (school with the 2nd highest point total from students earning medals in the speaking events)

Congratulations to coaches Michelle Gentry (Copy Editing, Headline, & Spelling), Sherri White (News Writing & Feature Writing), Dawn Ramirez (Informative Speaking), & Jaimee Ingalls (Poetry), and coordinator Shannon Middleton. Students who are advancing to the Regional UIL Academic Meet will compete at the University of Texas at Arlington on April 23rd, 2022.

ALL-STATE TENNIS RECOGNITIONS

Congratulations to a few of our Lobo Tennis seniors for All-State recognition by THSCA (Texas High School Coaches Association) for the incredible work they are doing in the classroom!

THSCA Academic All-State Teams recognize high school athletes who excel in the following categories: GPA, class rank and ACT/SAT score. The students below are being recognized state-wide as a team member based on their scores in these categories.

A special shout out to Peyton! The best team a player can make is the Elite Team. It is a great honor to make the Elite team, as a player must have near perfect scores in all categories. The hierarchy then follows in this order: 1st Team, 2nd Team, Honorable Mention
