Do You DBQ?
The DBQ Project: Content Literacy through Inquiry
The DBQ Project Approach
All of our lessons are inquiry-based and student-centered. As students grapple with a driving question, they read and analyze a series of documents. Ultimately, students draw their own informed conclusions about the central question, and express those conclusions through an evidence-based essay.
To effectively guide student through this process, we have developed a Six-Step Method, which breaks down what is normally a complex process into manageable, concrete steps.
- We have materials for US and World History, Civics, Geography, Economics and Literature. We also offer cross-disciplinary lessons for the elementary level.
- Materials are available in print as well as through digital subscriptions to DBQ Online.
We Have Spanish-Language DBQs
Your Spanish-speaking and dual languag students will greatly benefit from our new Spanish version Mini-Qs. Students can either complete the lesson entirely in Spanish, or they can toggle between Spanish and English versions.
