Trailblazer Times
August 23, 2024
Week two was so amazing! We have been hard at work not only learning our grade level content but we are learning about expectations and procedures for daily functioning at Rollins. Also, we are engaged in deeper learning of our TROT Behavioral Matrix (see graphic below), where we learn about how to be Trustworthy, Respectful/Responsible, the Owner of our Actions, and Thoughtful of Others!
Car riders, please use the car lines for drop-off. We are getting faster and faster as everyone settles into the routine. Please make sure car tags are visible when you are in the parking lot. When students are dropped off in the parking lot or walked in, this increases the chance of safety issues arising and slows down our car line. Also, please remind students to load and unload as quickly as possible so we can keep the line moving smoothly! We appreciate your help! There is NO drop-off in the back parking lot, except for Pre-K students.
Cars cannot park in the Westbrook subdivision to pick up kids, as this is a walker line area. Reports of blocked driveways and blocked trash cans on pick-up day could result in Tontitown Police Department being notified by neighborhood citizens. For the safety of students and staff, Arkansas law states that a driver of a motor vehicle shall not use a handheld wireless telephone while operating a motor vehicle when passing a school building or in a school zone during school hours when children are present and outside the building. Thank you for partnering with us to keep our students and staff safe.
If you have not already downloaded the Springdale Schools app, please do so today! This will be a district-wide communication platform for teachers and families. Please see important information below on Rooms!

School Safety and Police Department Partnership
Our school was built with the newest safety standards required by the state of Arkansas with reinforced steel beams inside the walls to withstand high winds, a fire sprinkler system, a brick barrier across the front, gated playgrounds, and a full-time Tontitown Police Officer on site. Officer Clint Luond is on-site throughout each day. You can reach him at Rollins at 479-750-8721 or you can call 479-361-9168.
Our faculty and staff conduct monthly safety drills using the Catapult App This App also notifies law enforcement. During our fire safety drills, the Tontitown Fire Department is on-site and following our procedures using the Catapult App.
Dismissal Times and Early Release Wednesdays
- 3:10- Bus riders exit through the back doors to the sidewalks at the bus loading zone.
- 3:10- Walkers in the green zone (walker-1 in PikmyKid) will leave the campus through the back doors. School staff will walk with them to the entrance of Romano Ave.
- 3:10- Car riders will go to the porch as their names appear on the screen inside the building. School staff to take children to their cars.
- 3:12 (approximately) Buses will leave the school grounds.
- 3:10- Walkers in the purple zone (walker-2 in Pikmykid) will exit through the back doors after the buses have left. School staff will walk with children to the entrance of Lazzari Street.
- Please do not park and pick up children in the walker zones! If you come in a car, please use the car rider line at school. This keeps all children safe and avoids blocking the driveways of families who live by the walker zone entrances to the neighborhoods.
On Wednesdays, school is dismissed at 1:50. This is the same as last year.
PikmyKid Dismissal Procedures
We will use car tags and the Pikmykid app together. Even if your child rides a bus or is a walker, you will get a car tag to use if you have to come to the school to pick up your child.
To learn a little more on your own, please check out the following link that will show you a few of the PikMyKid features. https://www.pikmykid.com/features/for-parents/
