Principal's Message
Dear Green Hope High School Families,
I hope you had a wonderful final few days of summer and are as excited as we are to start our 25th year at GHHS! This message includes important information for you, as families and students, to know to be prepared for the week and year ahead. Please take the time to read through the sections below. Click on the links, visit the resources, and check our website!
GHHS is a busy place with a ton of great opportunities for students and families to be involved. Our website and the Falcon Messenger is a great place to find information. Please review them frequently. Starting this week, I will send the Falcon Messenger to families on Friday afternoons.
I thank you all for your continued support, communication, and advocacy for GHHS and your students. We are looking forward to a fantastic school year!

Important Information
First Week Meetings
During the first week of school, we will introduce policies, procedures, and expectations to all students in the following format. It is mandatory for students to attend the sessions, following the schedule below. Attendance will be taken for each session.
ALL 9th and 10th Graders will attend mandatory SMART Lunch following the schedule below (picture to righ).
- Tuesday - 2nd period class
- Wednesday - 3rd period class
- Thursday - 4th period class
- Friday - 1st period class
All 11th Graders - Tuesday (8/27) at 10:00 am in the Auditorium
All 12th Graders - Wednesday (8/28) at 10:00 am in the Auditorium
New Falcon Orientation
We welcome ALL new to Green Hope students and families to our New Falcon Orientation on August 26th. We will begin our opening session at 9:00 am. Please plan to arrive to the school early enough to park and be in the school by 9:00am!
Students will report to the COMMONS to receive their group assignments.
Parents will report to the AUDITORIUM.
Students and families will receive important first day information, pick up their Chromebooks, and walk their schedules. Families who attend the New Falcon Orientation will not need to come back for the "Meet The Teacher" event later that afternoon.
There will also be representatives available for support with:
- Powerschool
- Transportation
- PTSA
- Booster Clubs
Early Release/Late Arrival
Juniors/seniors interested in Early Release/Late Arrival can complete the Early Release/Late Arrival form and submit it to their assigned counselor by Thursday, September 5th.
Off-Campus Lunch Pass Distribution
Students may submit their Off-Campus Lunch Pass Form and pick up their pass any day this week between 1:00 - 2:30 pm or during the "Meet the Teacher" event on August 26th. Any students who do not pick up their pass prior to the first day of school will not be able to go off-campus for lunch on the first day. Students will then have the opportunity to pick up their pass an August 27th and 28th after school.
School Cash Online
Please note that WCPSS does not use the OSP payment system anymore. School Cash Online is the new payment system. Parent/ Student needs to create a new account when using it for the first time. While registering make sure to click on 'add student' and add student's information. If you have any questions, here are the detailed instructions.
Upcoming Events
Meet the Teacher - August 26th
The Fall Semester Meet the Teacher event will be on Monday, August 26th from 2:00pm - 4:00pm.
This is a floating event where students and families can come to Green Hope anytime between 2:00 and 4:00 to walk through their fall semester schedule, locate their classrooms, and meet their teachers. Please have your student bring their schedule. If your student does not have access to Powerschool, we will have staff available to print their schedule upon arrival.
Labor Day
There is no school on Monday, September 2nd in observance of the Labor Day Holiday.

Senior Information
Senior Parking Spot Decorating - 8/26
Monday August 26th 5pm - 6:30pm. This is a rain or shine event.
ONLY CHALK is allowed to decorate the spots. NO CHALK PAINT per administration. Families might want to bring brooms or other items to clean the space prior to chalking. Hairspray works well to help keep the chalk set. If it looks like rain you are welcome to bring something to cover the space.
Senior Parade - Tuesday, August 27th
All Seniors are invited to register for the Senior Parade which will take place before school starts on the first day of school. Up to 75 cars are able to register. Each driver will register and list everyone that is going to be in their car. (Each rider must have a seatbelt) Have fun decorating your car for the parade. Teachers will be at the carpool line ready to review and judge cars! Look out for more info on parade themes and judging categories.
Register here FOR SENIOR PARADE by 4pm Saturday August 25th. Registration is open to the first 75 registrations.
Here’s the details:
Line up and registration starts at 6:00am at Green Hope Elementary School Parking Lot (Turn into the parking lot in the entrance closest to the volleyball courts)
No Trailers and or you are not allowed to tow anything
Parade will start by 6:30am (parents are encouraged to watch along the parade route Louis Stephens Rd and Carpenter Upchurch)
Have a safe and fun parade. The PTSA is committed to making this an amazing Senior Year for each of you! Can’t wait to see all of you at the parade.
