Important Notes for This Week
1. Save the Date: Monday, November 25 - Family Conferences
We will have Family Conferences from 12:45 to 6:15 pm. Families can sign up for conferences with their teachers through Synergy between the times of 12:45 and 4:15.
From 4:15 to 6:15, it will be a forum style conference meaning families can meet with teachers at a first come, first serve basis. More details and information on Family Conferences, including how to schedule an appointment for conferences can be found using the links below.
2. Schedule for the Week of November 25
Please also note that Tuesday, November 26 is also an Early Release Day and school will end at 12:30 pm.
There is no school on Wednesday, November 27 through Friday, November 29 for Thanksgiving Break. Students and staff will return to school on Monday, December 2.

1. Basketball Tryouts
All 7th and 8th graders, Basketball Season is open! To tryout, students must meet the following criteria PRIOR TO TRYOUTS:
- Be academically eligible from Quarter 1 with a minimum of a 2.0 GPA with no more than one "E" on your report card.
- Have a current SR-8 Physicians Form English | Spanish form signed and dated by a physician within the last 2 years either turned in to the Health Room, Mr. Flanagan, or uploaded through the MCPS ParentVue Portal
2. EmbedEd: Give Your Child the Opportunity to Explore Electronics, Programming, and Engineering!
We’re excited to offer EmbedEd, a hands-on 4-week program designed to introduce students to the world of electronics, programming, and engineering. This fun and engaging after-school program will take place every Tuesday from 3:15 to 4:15 starting on November 19th. No prior experience is required—just curiosity and a passion for creating! Students will have the chance to build circuits, program simple projects, and discover how embedded systems work. Students of all grade levels are welcomed!

3. Outdoor Education Forms
Attention 6th grade families, Outdoor Education permission slips and registration forms have been sent home. Please complete the forms as soon as possible and turn them into your Mission Planet Earth teacher.

2. Parent Academy To Go
Parent Academy TO GO is designed to inform and empower families as advocates and partners in their children's education. Workshops provide families with useful information and resources to support their children's academic and emotional well-being, as well as help them to be college and career ready. Through a variety of learning opportunities hosted by MCPS staff and community partners, we hope to strengthen our engagement with families and the community. We recognize that behind every successful student are supportive families, teachers, school staff and community members who take an active role in educating our students.
Advanced registration is required to participate in our workshops and chats.
