Administrative Announcement for Greeley School
June 10, 2024
Dear Greeley School Families,
We hope you enjoyed the weekend and have a wonderful last week of school. Our District leadership team is incredibly grateful for the time many of you contributed toward our principal search. We are pleased to announce that at the Tuesday, June 11 Board meeting, Ms. Lindsay Kopinski will be named as the recommended candidate for Greeley School Principal. Upon Board approval, she will begin in the position on July 1, 2024. The administrative team will work with Ms. Kopinski over the next few months to ensure a smooth transition into her role at Greeley School. Ms. Kopinski will reach out to the Greeley community to introduce herself and share information on plans for meet and greets over the summer.
We were fortunate to draw a strong response to the search for the Greeley Principal position. Ms. Kopinski rose to the top due to her student-centered instructional leadership experience, a history of collaborative communication aligned with the needs of staff and families, and an exemplary understanding of best practices to enhance learning outcomes in elementary education.
For the past three years, Ms. Kopinski has served as the Associate Principal at May Whitney School, a school serving pre-Kindergarten through fifth grade students in District 95 (Lake Zurich). Prior to that, she was an instructional coach in District 74 (Lincolnwood) and was an elementary school teacher for students in Kindergarten, first and fourth grades for eight years at Fairview South School in District 72 (Skokie). Ms. Kopinski has a Master’s Degree in Educational Technology from Concordia University Chicago, earned certification as an Educational Specialist in Educational Leadership from National Louis University, and holds a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from University of Wisconsin-Madison.
References for Ms. Kopinski spoke about her innate ability to foster meaningful, supportive and collaborative relationships between staff, students and families. Her authenticity and warmth was evident to our interview panels; colleagues of Ms. Kokinski referenced that she possesses these qualities as well. Additionally, Ms. Kopinski’s background in instructional coaching and elementary school curriculum has proven to be an asset to her staff and students in supporting growth goals for the school.
Thank you to the many staff, administrators and parents who were instrumental in the selection process. As mentioned, Greeley families will be apprised of opportunities to meet Ms. Kopinski prior to the start of the 24/25 school year. We look forward to the many ways her leadership will benefit our school community.
Sincerely,
Dr. Kelly Tess, Superintendent
