PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE

During the month of February we will be focusing on kindness. Specifically how to be kind to ourselves, each other and the world. The faculty and staff at Mylan Park Elementary are dedicated to creating a kind, welcoming school environment. Teaching empathy and kindness is essential to building safer schools and a more tolerant, open-minded society that welcomes differences.

🖤🤎This month we will be recognizing and celebrating Black History Month. Throughout the month of February at The Park, students will be immersed in morning meetings featuring important black individuals, completing biography projects and listening to books read aloud on our "Celebrate Black Voices" read-aloud hub located on our website under "book club." At the end of the month students will showcase all they have learned with our Celebrate Black Voices Showcase!

🌈During the week of February 3rd -7th we will be recognizing Mrs. Bartley and Mrs. Flatley-Mason during National School Counselors' Week. Both of these ladies offer patience, goodwill, and positive relationship building to our students and staff. We are so glad they are part of our MP family!

❤️On February 14th we will also be having our Friendship Celebrations. Our PTO will be purchasing snacks for all students and homeroom parents will be supporting classrooms with activities and FUN!

💯February 17th we will be celebrating our 100th day of school! Students are encouraged to show their spirit for this day with 100th Day T-Shirts and even dressing up like they are 100!

⚫⚪February 18th we will be celebrating our 101st day of school! Wear your black and white and Dalmatian spots on this day to help us celebrate 101 days of learning!

❄️We continue to play outside if the weather is cooperating! Be sure that your child is dressed appropriately for colder temperatures. Please label all coats, hats, gloves, etc. so they don't end up in the lost in found. Have you lost something? Check the lost and found in the cafeteria.

Arctic Academy

Our first few days of Arctic Academy were a huge success! Thank you to all students who joined their online classroom meetings through Google Classroom! Don't miss out on this connection time with your teacher!

🏔️☀️Summer Avalanche is BACK!

General Registration opens on February 3rd for Summer Avalanche summer programming! We are thrilled to offer full day programming and meals here at The Park in the month of July. Be sure to get your student registered here for priority course selection in April!

🍎Pre-K Registration Info:

Beginning February 3rd students who will be 4 years of age on or before June 30, 2025 will be able to register for Pre-K/Head Start. Click here for more information about what is needed to register AND to register for PK. [In person appointments will be scheduled for 2/20/25 and 3/28/25 at the Mon County Center from 8:30-3:00pm.] Preferential placement will be given to families with complete applications submitted prior to 4/15/25.

🍏Kindergarten Registration Info:

Be looking for an online form to register your child for the 2025-2026 school year. Children must be 5 on or before June 30, 2025 to register. ALL incoming Kindergarteners must fill out a registration form even if they were enrolled in MCS Pre-K.

**Save The Date! Please plan to attend Kindergarten Registration at school sites on April 11th 2025.**
