SPORTS UPDATE
This week your 6th & 7th grade Lady Wolves faced White Lake and Banks. Though White Lake and Banks took the wins this week, the Lady Wolves played their best volleyball of the season! A few players get their first overhand serves over which was an amazing sight to see! There were fantastic passes, great sets, and phenomenal hits! Please come and cheer us on against Smart on Monday at home. Go Wolves!
The 8th Grade Lady Wolves had a split performance in their matches against White Lake and Sarah Banks. In a hard-fought battle, the Lady Wolves came up short against White Lake, but they showed incredible teamwork and determination, learning valuable lessons for future games. Bouncing back with energy and focus, the Lady Wolves secured a well-deserved victory against cross town rival Sarah Banks! Their communication, serves, and defense were on point, leading to a strong win.
The team's resilience and teamwork were evident in both matches. Great job, Lady Wolves, and keep the momentum going.
In addition to exciting volleyball, we had some exciting cross country meets. On Friday, various members got to compete in the Oakland County Cross Country Meet. In order to compete they had to achieve their goals and qualify. Making their mark known were Fernando Zaleta (5th) and Ty Orman (29th). All athletes did a great job representing Geisler!
Following up Oakland County was another close meet against Oak Valley. Unfortunatelyt the boys and girls teams just came up short of securing a victory. Great running by all with continued improvement! Wish your cross country runners luck as they wrap up their season in away meets next week in a tri-meet against Millenium and Banks on Wednesday and the LVC Conference Meet on Friday! Good luck Wolves!
REMINDER - All students attending our middle school athletic events as spectators will need an adult chaperone who will be responsible for them. Those without a chaperone will not be allowed to attend.

TEACHER OF THE YEAR
We are excited and proud to continue the Teacher of the Year recognition program to honor exemplary educators in Walled Lake Schools. We have SO many exceptional teachers at Geisler MS. Let's do our best to honor them! Attached is the fillable PDF that students, families, staff and community members may complete. Nominations are due by Friday, October 18.

Math/ELA iReady Diagnostics
iReady is an assessment tool that is given to all students grades 6-8 in math and English language arts. The results from the assessment give teachers information on how to tailor their instruction to meet the needs of their class/students. It also gives individual feedback to each student/family on if they are at, behind or above grade level. Lessons can then be completed in iReady that are tailored specifically for each student. If your child is not at grade level at this time, it's ok! In the next few weeks, we will be sending home strategies to help them get caught up. We'll need your support to help us do that.
By Friday, September 27, your child's math and ELA teachers will be giving each student their individual diagnostic results report. If your child did not finish due to absence, it may be a few more days before you receive the information.
Students will be reviewing their own individual data and setting some goals with their teachers.
Please ask your child for their iReady diagnostic results in Math and ELA!
Please review the 2 informational letters below to learn more about iReady and how you can help your student become more proficient in math and ELA.
