A message from our 2024-2025 Mountain View PTO Committee
Hello Bengal Community!
Thank you to all our volunteers, parents, staff, and teachers who helped make the Carnival such a successful night! We could not put on events like the Carnival without all of your support and your donations! Our baskets were amazing this year, and we are still so appreciative of all the class donations! Thank you to everyone who came to the Carnival! It was wonderful seeing all the happy faces, hearing all the fun, and laughter. If you want to help with the next event or have suggestions for this event or others, please come to our PTO meeting or send us an email: mountainviewbengalspto@gmail.com

The Counselors' Corner
Mountain View Sunshine Club
Did you know that too many absences—excused or unexcused—can hinder your student’s learning and success?
How many absences are too many? 2 days a month is 10% of the school year—that’s 18 missed days in a school year, which can lead to difficulty in learning reading and math skills, building relationships with friends and staff, and developing good attendance habits.
To improve school attendance Mountain View is starting the Sunshine Club on 9/30/24! The Sunshine Club’s purpose is to reward students who show up, and support students who have been identified as having struggles with regular school attendance.
All Students will earn a piece of candy for being at school 95% each week. This equals every day for the week previous in attendance.
Students who are nearing chronically absent will be invited to earn a Sunshine Point for every day that they attend school. The students will have a weekly opportunity to spend their bucks on items or save them up for larger items or experiences (spending time with a favorite adult in the building playing games). If your student was invited to this portion you have received a permission slip that needs to be signed and returned before they can participate!
When students become chronically absent >10%, they will receive tier two support where they will have a mentor to meet with once per week, and at the end of each month, students that have earned 19 Sunshine Bucks or attended 95% of the days will be eligible for a family prize.
