January 2025
Dear Section Families,
Happy New Year, and welcome back to school! I hope you and your loved ones had a restful, joyful holiday break, filled with time for relaxation and togetherness. As we return to school and welcome the month of January, we are excited to embark on the second half of the school year with renewed energy and enthusiasm.
January offers a wonderful opportunity for fresh starts and new goals. Our students are ready to continue their academic journeys, and we are eager to support them every step of the way. This is a time to reflect on progress made and look ahead to the possibilities of growth, learning, and success.
Let’s make this second half of the year a memorable one, full of growth and accomplishments. We are grateful for the opportunity to work with such a dedicated community of families and look forward to all that we will achieve together in 2025.
Warm regards,
Rachel Crockford
Principal

Family Literacy History Survey for Kindergarten through Grade 3
As part of Wisconsin's early literacy law, Act 20, districts are required to offer families of students in Kindergarten through Grade 3 who require additional literacy support a family literacy history survey. Due to the tight timelines we have to collect this information, we are offering this brief 5-question survey to all of our K-3 families at this time.
For all families with students in K-3, click below to access the survey. Families with multiple students in K-3 should fill it out for each child. Please complete the survey by January 22.

Project Fair - Is your student passionate about a specific topic? Let them share their interest with their peers by signing them up for the Section Project Fair! Section Project Fair provides a space for students to share about ANYTHING such as family, pets (sorry – pets have to stay home, but photos are welcome), a favorite animal, a trip they have taken, a place they want to visit, someone interesting, a favorite sport or hobby, a science topic, the list goes on!
Project Fair set up will be held Tuesday, February 25th from 6:30-7:30pm. Student viewing will take place during the day on February 26th, no night time viewing will follow. A limited volunteer sign up for parents to view projects and fill out comment cards will be available closer to the date.

PRO-TIPS:
Make your night easy and pre-order your Family Pizza Meal Deal HERE. Pizza by the slice is available, but limited to first come, first serve.
Pre-make name labels for the kids raffle tickets, this eliminates the need for your student to write their name on every ticket. Kid raffle ticket envelopes will be available again as well!
Bring cash for the bake sale, beverage and ticket/game card purchases
Cash, check and square payments accepted for the Silent Auction
Section Spirit Wear - We have traditionally had a Winter Spirit Wear sale in January, but have decided to move it closer to the Spring. Stay tuned for some fun, new items!
6th Grade Newspaper Club
We only have a few hangers left, so we will be clearing out and donating these items on Friday, January 20th! So please stop in and look, or ask your student to take a peek.
