MES Weekly Scoop
It's A Great Day to Be A Bulldog! Bulldogs Don't Quit!
Principal's Note
April 28 - May 2, 2025
Dear Marysville Elementary Families,
As we move into the final stretch of the school year, this week is full of exciting opportunities and important events for our students!
Our 6th graders will be touring the Junior High this week. This is a major milestone in their educational journey, and we are proud to support them during this important transition. Touring their future school helps ease nerves, answer questions, and build excitement for the new adventures that lie ahead.
On Wednesday, April 30th, both 2nd grade and Kindergarten will be heading out for their field trips! Our 2nd graders will travel to Lincoln, while our Kindergarteners will explore Beatrice. These trips offer a wonderful extension of learning beyond the classroom, and we know they'll have a great time!
Also on Wednesday evening, we invite you to attend the 6th Grade Band Concert at 6:00 PM. Our students have been working hard all year, and we are excited to hear their talents on full display. Itβs a night you wonβt want to miss!
On Friday, May 2nd, we are hosting our Preschool Open House from 9:00 AMβ1:00 PM. This is a special opportunity for our future littlest learners to meet the teachers, explore the classrooms, and start building a sense of comfort and excitement about starting school. We look forward to welcoming new families into our Marysville Elementary community!
This week also marks the beginning of our Spring Fastbridge testing. Fastbridge screeners are a key tool that help us measure academic growth and identify areas where students may need additional support. These results play an important role in how we plan for instruction and interventions, ensuring each child continues to make strong, steady progress.
Thank you, as always, for your continued support and partnership. Letβs make it a wonderful week!
With appreciation,
Mrs. Janine Doebele

Spring Fastbridge Screener
As part of our commitment to supporting every studentβs academic growth, Marysville Elementary will be conducting our Spring FastBridge Screenings for students in PreK through 6th grade THIS WEEK. These assessments are an important part of how we track progress, celebrate growth, and plan support for each child.
What is FastBridge?
FastBridge is a research-based assessment tool that measures important skills in reading, math, and social-emotional development. The screenings are quick (about 10β30 minutes depending on grade level) and provide valuable information on where your child is excelling and where they may need extra support.
Screening Dates:
π April 28th-May 2nd, 2025
Areas Screened:
-
PreK: Early reading and early math readiness
-
Kβ1: Foundational skills in reading (like phonics) and early math concepts
-
2β6: Reading fluency, reading comprehension, math problem-solving, and basic math skills
Why is it important?
β
Identifies student strengths
β
Helps teachers plan instruction tailored to student needs
β
Tracks student growth over the year
β
Provides early intervention if needed
β
Prepares students for success in the next grade
How can families support their children?
-
Ensure your child gets plenty of rest the night before
-
Encourage a healthy breakfast
-
Remind them to do their best β itβs just one way we show what theyβve learned!
-
Celebrate their effort and progress, no matter what!
When will results be shared?
If you have questions about your child's results, you are always welcome to reach out to their teacher or schedule a meeting.
We are so proud of the growth and hard work our students have shown this year. Thank you for your partnership in helping them succeed!
