Foundation 4ward
February 6, 2024
We are Foundation 4ward!
A word from GCPS Foundation President, David Seago
On behalf of the Board of Directors of the Gwinnett County Public Schools Foundation, I want to say thank you for all the support we are given by the school system and all our community partners, to support the mission of the Foundation.
As you read through this newsletter, I hope you can grasp the magnitude of our support for our students, teachers, and schools. There are so many initiatives I could highlight, but with the challenges we face today I am particularly proud of what we are doing with our contributions to our school counselors, nurses, and social workers, and recognizing their tremendous value to the school system.
I also want to remind everyone to mark their calendars for our next Hall of Fame induction ceremony on May 2nd. This program helps fund many of our Foundation initiatives in addition to recognizing many of the great athletes, coaches, and others who have done so much for sports in Gwinnett County.
Looking forward to a great 2024. Take care and stay safe.

January Recap
We started 2024 with GIVING!
January was full of donations and celebrations, starting our year with the right foot 4ward!
The Empty Stocking Fund, one of our partners, has out done themselves with their generosity. Through our partnership, we were able to offer supplies to the Science Fair, Job Fair, all Art Departments, High School Engineering Classes, Building Babies Brains, Play to Learn, the January Hope thru Soap event, Summer Leadership Conference, and the Book Mobile. Some of these donations include water bottles and cups, backpacks, markers, books, glue, paint pens, pencils, and slime.
Save the Date: 2024 Gwinnett County Sports Hall of Fame
We are excited to announce that this year's Gwinnett County Sports Hall of Fame induction ceremony will be held on May 2, 2024!

Give your $24 in '24
The GCPS Foundation is embracing our $24 in ’24 giving campaign! Starting this month, we are encouraging employees to donate $24 a month as a part of their payroll deductions. These donations can be designated to any of our 50+ funds! There is a gift designation that supports almost anyone’s goals, initiatives, or mission. This ranges from a specific school or cluster to Hope thru Soap, who provide mobile showers to the community. We encourage our Board members and community to join in this fundraising endeavor and support us in pushing 4ward!
Thank a Partner
The Empty Stocking Fund (ESF)
ESF has been giving back to their community since 1927 when it was started by a small group of employees from The Atlanta Georgian, later known as The Atlanta Journal-Constitution. Fast forward to 2019 and the ESF expanded their reach by distributing school supplies throughout the Metro-Atlanta area.
In 2022, they packed and distributed 30,000 supply kits for disadvantaged students and helped 1,750 teachers through their Free Teacher Store.
We have been able to support GCPS teachers and students in various ways through their generosity. The GCPS Foundation is a grateful partner of ESF and we encourage you to visit their website here for more information on their work, how to help, or how to get support!
Fund of the month
In honor of Black History Month, we encourage you to support the incredible scholarships listed below! These are specifically offered to GCPS students of African American descent and aim to reduce education disparities faced by many African American students.
GCPS celebrates #EachAndEvery individual as we cultivate a culture of belonging while leading with empathy, equity, and excellence to ensure that #TeanGCPS students, families, and staff feel welcome, safe, accepted, valued, and prepared for the future.
